Solos holiday in the school holidays

Meet Kate, a teacher from London. She teaches, and she learns. Kate recently learned to ride a horse. She tried yoga for the very first time. Kate also travelled solo on a GoLearnTo.com yoga and horse riding holiday in beautiful Casperia, around an hour north of Rome. Here’s what Kate had to say about the holiday…

Kate had never tried yoga. She’d never been on a horse. Looking for a reasonably priced trip during the school holidays that only took up one weekend, Kate found GoLearnTo.com.

Sunflower fields, no cars and a view from horseback

Kate spent her week in beautiful Casperia, a peaceful medieval walled village 1 hour north of Rome. Casperia is especially tranquil as it’s free from cars. Kate loved that it was surrounded by sunflower fields, magnificent mountains and cosy farm houses. Picture perfect.

And there’s Kate in the picture – riding around Casperia and the surrounding hills. It’s her favourite holiday moment.

“Casperia is lovely, just beautiful. And because you’re on horseback, you’re a little higher up and you get a better view.”

“Isabella [her horse riding instructor] was great. Isabella, a native Italian spoke faltering English and although she might not have known that I’ve never been on a horse, as it might have got lost in translation, her lessons were just great. I learned how to ride. She took me around on horseback, which was just beautiful.”

“The garden is beautiful. The yoga was very very relaxing.”

“Maya [our yoga teacher] is wonderful, very friendly. She is very very experienced. We heard in one of the afternoon yoga sessions that she has lived all over the world!”

Great people from all over the world

“The other people there were great. We were all girls from London, Sweden, Ireland… everyone was very friendly.”

“There were four 60-year-old ladies who’d been at the retreat several times because they loved it so much.”

“There were organised outings. We saw the sunflower fields. Some of the others visited thermal baths nearby. There was a pool just for the group of us. We relaxed in the garden on some afternoons.”
