Which? magazine rates GoLearnTo.com highly

Which? magazine ran a review in the October edition of Which? Holiday on learning holidays and GoLearnTo.com came out tops. Read what Which? had to say here…

Planning to go on a learning holiday? Want to pick up a new skill or perfect an existing one? We put five companies to the test…

Combining your holiday with perfecting or learning a new skill can be both fun and educational, offering an enriching experience for holidaymakers who want to do more than just fly and flop. And it seems plenty of you are getting involved.

According to Mintel, 6.6 million adults have learnt a new skill, 4.6 million a new language, and 3.1 million attended a course while on holiday in the past three years. Consumers often rely on brochures, websites and telephone customer service to help research holidays, and the provision and quality of information can be a key factor when deciding who to book with. Although we didn’t partake in any of the learning holidays with the companies in this report, our Which? Holiday research will help you plan your break, providing a snapshot of the brochure, website and customer service quality you can expect from our evaluated companies.

What we did

We evaluated the brochure (where available), website and telephone customer service of five companies providing multiple learning holidays, where you can acquire a variety of new skills.

This included companies selling their own holidays and agents offering other operators’ learning holidays (including exclusive breaks).

We commissioned an independent expert to review each company’s website, and asked our expert to rate key areas, such as the booking facility, ease of use and the depth of information available to consumers. In July 2009, our mystery shoppers made five calls to each company’s telephone customer service line, using a different holiday scenario for each call. We analysed the advisors’ knowledge about tuition hours, group sizes, tutor experiences, etc.

Website golearnto.com

The company does not provide a brochure, all information is shown online.

What we like:

This website is among the best for design and ease of use. Details are comprehensive (although we would have liked more tutor info), and despite being quite a busy site, the info is categorised in a logical order, making it easy to navigate – symbols are used to clearly indicate class sizes and tuition hours.

Visually impaired users will appreciate the immediate ability to enlarge and reduce the text size using the +/- buttons. Live online booking is also available.

We like:
Comprehensive info and the ability to narrow down your search to quite a detailed level.
We don’t like:
Although the text size on the website can be increased, the inital text setting is still quite small to read.
Customer service:
Despite not always having the information to hand, the advisors we spoke to were polite and friendly.
