Portuguese Country Cooking School
One of the highlights of my getaway was indulging in a Portuguese Cooking lesson. It was so quick and convenient to organize. In fact much to my surprise, I was able to book on a Sunday night for the following day thanks to GoLearnto.com and the accommodating staff at the cookery school.
How to get there is an interesting story in itself.
The day started with an introduction of my itinerary. I had a visit at the local market to look forward to in Aljezur, which would determine what we would cook throughout the day. We would also be making bread from scratch once I made acquaintances with the wood fired brick oven.
What we ended up making was phenomenal as it all came out of Frannie’s head as we went along. The day saw us make
the following: Fruit platter, Potato Bread, Barbecued Sardines, Goats cheese on a bed of honey and lime carrots, Vegetable tempura and home-made mayonnaise…
Soon Freda will tell us more about the mouth-watering recipes and dishes she prepared together with Chef Frances on this wonderful rural cookery holiday.
