Surf and Moroccan cookery – Richard would recommend it in a heartbeat

“Marcus and Sanaa were simply superb hosts making our trip an absolutely brilliant one. They bent over backwards to accommodate us with our two little ones (4 years and 18months old). We’d never surfed before, but Marcus’s lessons were well paced and allowed us time to practice the basics, but he didn’t hesitate to push us a bit once we got the hang of things which was great. Sanaa’s cooking lessons were great also – proper Moroccan meals, damn tasty. Sanna also helped us get the essentials (stuff we wouldn’t find easily at home) while we were in Morocco so we could recreate everything. Awesome holiday! Thanks.

The Duckworths wanted to do something different, quirky for their Christmas holiday. They searched the worldwide web. Clicked on GoLearnTo.com. We served up some deliciously different holiday options to choose from, cookery in France, surfing in Spain. The Duckworths knew our surf and cookery holiday in Bouznika, Morocco was the one for them. Why settle for just cookery or surfing when they could do both? We must be mind-readers – it turned out to be just as deliciously exciting as we had predicted. This is what a holiday should feel like…

Did the surf and cookery course meet your expectations?
Absolutely. both were excellent. pitched at the ideal level for us, really flexible and accommodating as we had to little ones with us.

What were your surf instructor and chef like?
Marcus was superb, demonstrating what we should be doing, providing lots of help when necessary, and letting us figure it out for ourselves when he knew we could do it. Sanaa did the cooking, took us to the local markets to get the ingredients, shared lots of stories about how she grew up with this cooking, and how to get best results from the ingredients (substitutes that we could use if we couldn’t find the exact thing we needed) and how to use and treat the equipment (tagine mostly) properly.

What did you learn to cook in your cookery lessons?
Tagine of fish, local veggies and there was a chicken tagine too.

What was your highlight of the holiday?
Awesomely welcoming hosts over Xmas week putting on excellent surf and cooking lessons.

Would you recommend this course to others?
In a heartbeat, and have been raving about it ever since. Lots of people love the ‘golearnto’ concept.
