What were the highlights?
The whole trip to me was incredible and the best holiday I’ve ever been on (I’ve traveled quite far and wide).
The best day was when Julie took us on a trip she organised to a beach called the Three Pools. We began by doing yoga in a sheltered canopy on the beach. This was so ideallic. There was not a sound but the sea and the sun was shining, the sky a perfect blue. What more motivation could I need to work hard, finishing with the headstand I’d learned that week, before practicing the controlled breathing and meditation exercises we had learned.
Julie then led us on a short snorkeling trip in the pools where we saw some great sea life amongst the coral. This was followed by a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea, which was light and delicious. We relaxed and chatted, read our books, dozed on the hammock, before being dropped at our hotel again. To sum up the day – total bliss.
What were the team and staff like?
The hotel staff were so welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for better service had I stayed in a 5 star hotel. The local people were friendly, open, and welcoming everywhere we went. I never once felt that anything was lacking in this regard.
Julie our yoga instructor met us as we checked in. She became like a good friend over the course of the week. She also does fantastic massage and knew the local area very well.
How were the yoga classes?
Excellent. Initially, I thought “this involves a lot of meditation, which I’m not that into”. By the end of the week, I was really into it! Doing 3 hours per day could be very intensive, but Julie recognised this and made the class suit all levels.
There were 4 people in our class and this meant we had close tuition. I learned a lot of new technique, poses, holds and improved on a lot too, despite having done yoga for over a year at home prior to Dahab.
I really felt the benefit of the yoga to both my body and mind. The yoga practice left me feeling very at peace and my friend and I often commented to
Julie the following mornings about how good we felt from the previous night’s yoga.
We spent a good amount of time together as a group. Julie recommended good places to eat locally and we all went together. It was great to spend time with people you share a common interest with, but still to feel so relaxed. We also went on some day trips and excursions together.
Would you recommend booking with GoLearnTo.com?
This is exactly what we were looking for and what we needed. The booking process was easy. For the holiday we had, it was amazing value.
Golearnto staff have been friendly and helpful, even with my indecisiveness and repeated questions prior to booking (I emailed back and forward for over a fortnight!). Everything was arranged for me – all I had to do was show up. It couldn’t have been easier. I intend to use GoLearnTo again for my next trip…perhaps yoga and surfing next time? I can’t wait.
