Is it safe to travel to Egypt?

Here at GoLearnTo.com, we have a lovely retreat in Dahab, Egypt where you can unwind on a relaxing yoga holiday, scuba dive  in the perfect diving conditions of the Red Sea, or if you’re feeling adventurous, combine both yoga and scuba diving together!

One of the big questions we get asked by our guest’s holidaying in Dahab is just how safe is it really to travel to Egypt?

At GoLearnTo.com we always follow what the Foreign Office advise and monitor updates from the Foreign Office daily. Would never send our lovely customers on a holiday that was deemed unsafe by the Foreign Office, so you can rest assured that any holiday on our website is safe to travel on.

Our retreats in Dahab have been completely unaffected by any protests over the years and we’ve had hundreds of guests visiting Dahab and having a fantastic time on the holidays!

But don’t just take our word for it. Our dive centre manager in Dahab, Florian, has this message he’d like to share with you to put your mind at ease if you’re contemplating a holiday in Dahab this year:

Dear guests,

With regards to news reports concerning Egypt, we would like to let you know that Dahab is as quiet and peaceful as ever.  Once again, if you did not hear the news, you would not know of any protests or troubles in Egypt.

The FCO Travel Advice is the same as it has been for quite a while.  They advise against non-essential travel to Egypt WITH THE EXCEPTION of the Red Sea Resorts of Sharm el Sheikh, Taba, Nuweiba and Dahab.

Tourists (and the ex-pats) who are in Dahab are still able to go out and about during the evening with no problem whatsoever.

Whilst we appreciate that potential clients may be concerned please note that Dahab is about 250 miles (610km) away from Cairo, which is equivalent to the distance between London and Newcastle.

Many of us at the diving centre are ex-pats and have families here.  We are the first people who would be concerned should anything change our, and most especially our families, way of life here, and at the moment, we are not worried at all.

Obviously, if the situation does change, then rest assured we would let you know.
