Set in the charming village of Bouliac, just 10 minutes from Bordeaux city centre, this 19th century chateau provides you with stunning accommodation and the kitchen where your French cooking lesson takes place.
Arrive anytime on Friday or Saturday afternoon to relax and enjoy the surroundings of the chateau. Please yourself for dinner on your first night either in the village of Bouliac or venture the 10km to Bordeaux and choose from one of the fantastic restaurants in this food and wine lovers city.
The next morning you’ll visit the beautiful local outdoor food markets to learn how to select fresh, local ingredients to use during your French cookery class later that day.
The dining room and professional kitchen are located in the Orangerie, former wine cellar dating back to the 19th century is fully equipped with all you’ll need for your French cooking lessons as well as a traditional bread oven where under the expert supervision of Suzanne, your hostess and owner of the property, you will learn how to cook traditional, seasonal French food as well as learning all about the wines from this famous region.

- Please note that a car is highly recommended for this course otherwise taxi’s will need to be taken to the markets
- All cooking classes can be held in English, French, German or Hungarian
- Please note that this package is priced per person for a minimum of two people travelling together
- If you are travelling solo, single rooms are available for a small supplement (around 30 Euros) which can be added at the time of booking

French Cooking Course Itinerary
Please note that a car is recommended to reach the markets and nearby vineyards (a taxi can be organised for you if you prefer)
Day 1 Friday or Saturday arrivals
- You are welcome to arrive at the chateau on Friday or Saturday afternoon anytime after 3pm
- If you wish to arrive earlier, that’s absolutely fine but rooms will only be available from 3pm
- Upon arrival at the house you will have time to settle in to your room, unwind and relax
- Visits to the nearby vineyards, a round of golf, tennis or bike rides can be arranged for you
- In the evening you are free to make your own arrangements for dinner either in the nearby village or in Bordeaux
Day 2 Saturday or Sunday
- Enjoy a buffet continental breakfast before your visit to one of the most lively outdoor markets in the region
- Upon your return to the chateau you will take part in a group hands-on cooking lesson followed by lunch including the delicious food you have prepared
- You’ll also try wines from the region in a wine tasting session where you’ll learn which wines to pair with the food you’ve prepared
- After lunch you will enjoy a coffee accompanied by ‘cannelé’, a traditional sweet from Bordeaux before departing the chateau taking with you an insight into French life and delicious recipes and new French cooking skills that will stay with you long after the weekend break is over
Want To Stay Longer And Extend Your Cooking Weekend?
- If you’d like to extend your stay and stay on Saturday or Sunday night, you may add on additional nights in the chateau for around 75 Euros per person per night for a double room and 105 for a single
- Extra nights can be added during the booking process
Your Accommodation
- Your room is located in the same chateau where your French cooking lessons will be based and will be situated in the main building of this stunning 19th century chateau
- Your room will have one double bed
- All rooms feature a private bathroom, bed linen, towels and hairdryers if requested
- There will be a daily room cleaning service

Meals and Drinks
-A full buffet breakfast is included on Saturday or Sunday morning
- You will eat the lunch you have learned to cook after your cooking class on Saturday or Sunday
- Wine tasting is included on Saturday or Sunday (depending which day you start your weekend)
- If you’d like to have dinner at the chateau, you may add this during the booking process for the equivalent of 40 Euros per person including wine
