About the school
This photography school is located just 30km inland from the coastal village of San Roque with the Costa De La Luz to the left and the Costa Del Sol to the right.
Set in Jimena de la Frontera, a pretty pueblo blanco (white village), you’ll stay in a beautifully restored casa señoral on a pedestrian cobbled street in the heart of the old town. Built circa 1700 and a former court house, your accommodation exudes Andalucian charm.
Sleeping a maximum of 6 people, you’ll stay in one of the apartments with bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchenette or in the double en-suite room. Your photography teachers Sue and Alberto live in another self contained part of the house and you’ll be treated like friends coming to stay enjoying your own privacy but with all the comforts of home.
Your teachers, Sue & Alberto teach in a fun, relaxed way and aim to pass on their knowledge of digital photography to all those with a passion for photography. Sue, originally from Australia exhibits her photographs in both private and public collections in Australia and Spain and is also a qualified teacher. Alberto, a native Spaniard is a keen photographer with a passion for good food, wine and taking guests on both a photographic and a cultural experience.
The picturesque village of Jimena de la Frontera boasts views over the over the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa. The deep valleys and geographic location creates a subtropical climate that supports a great variety of flora and fauna and at certain times of the year, your photography course will take in the best the area has to offer. The surrounding cork forest provides the major source of cork for the wine trade and bird life is in abundance.
Gibraltar airport is less than 45minutes drive away, the village is near the famous town of Ronda, the warm seas of the Mediterranean are within easy reach and it is also possible to fly reach Jimena de la Frontera from Malaga or Jerez within 2 hours.
This photography school promises more than just a photography holiday, it is a full immersion in Spain, the land, people, culture, food, wine and history.
Accompanied by two photographers during your photography course, you'll get off the tourist trail and explore this hidden area of Spain as you hone your photography skills and take pictures you can be proud of.

By Taxi - Nearest airport: Gibraltar
Gibraltar airport is around 45 minutes drive away. The course prices includes a free pick up and drop off at Gibraltar airports on set days at set times (check the ‘included in the price’ against each course for the days/times). For flights that arrive outside of those times or those flying into Jerez or Malaga airport, transfers to the village are at your own expense.
Jimena de la Frontera is on the train line from Malaga and Gibraltar otherwise, a taxi or car hire is recommended.
