Guide to choosing language courses...
We are language specialists with top quality language courses in 14 different languages from Arabic to Spanish at accredited language schools for complete beginners to advanced levels in 30 different countries worldwide.
Unless you are a complete beginner, everyone will be tested on the first day of class so that you can be placed in the right group with others of a similar level. However, it is important for us to know what level you think you might be before you arrive so that language schools can plan the different levels and groups. To decide which level you are at, read our short guide to language levels below:
Complete Beginner
You have no prior knowledge of or experience with the language, or you haven’t studied the language within the last couple of years. Many language schools only accept beginners on set dates throughout the year, always check the 'suitability' section which you'll find under the course itinerary to check if you can join the group on the date you wish to travel.
Beginner
You have a basic understanding of a few key words and expressions e.g. the alphabet, numbers, greetings, telling the time, asking & answering simple questions.
Elementary
With some effort, you can get by in predictable situations. You can ask & respond to simple questions and you have a basic knowledge of grammar, different tenses and word order.
Intermediate
You can easily get by in the language on a daily basis. You have a reasonable understanding of the tense system and simple sentence structures. You can ask & respond to a wide range of common questions and express yourself in familiar situations.
Advanced
You have a good understanding of the language’s structures, with a broad vocabulary. You’re able to use the language appropriately, at a high level, in unfamiliar situations, and with few mistakes. You’re ready to learn new ways of expressing your ideas and the subtle nuances of the language. Advanced language courses can take you to fluency level.

How will I learn the language on one of these courses?
Forget stuffy classrooms, these language holidays are about having a good time and trying life in another language. Lessons are focused on having fun and group language courses are typically highly interactive. You'll be taught in the language you are learning (for example Spanish), even if you are a complete beginner but don't worry as this method is tried and tested to accelerate your learning.
You will focus on the four main language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening dedicating about half of the time to reading and writing and the rest of the time to conversation. There'll be lots of fun group work, role play and you'll also make use of a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, local press, audio/video, songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level. You can join groups starting from complete beginners, beginners, elementary, intermediate or advanced language levels.
What kind of people will I meet on a language holiday?
You'll meet like-minded people usually aged in their mid 20's right up to the mid 60's who are interested in learning a new language and getting off the tourist trail or those who are there to brush up on their existing skills. Many people who take a language holiday travel on a singles holiday so the language schools run plenty of social & cultural activities to help you meet other students and to practice your skills outside of the classroom.
