From April 14 to 24, several towns on Lake Garda (Gargnano, Tremosine, Limone sul Garda, Torbole, and Malcesine) will be the film sets for the 22nd James Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace”, directed by Marc Forster (who also directed the famous “The Kite Runner”) and Dan Bradley (director of the action scenes of “Spiderman” and the new “Indian Jones”).
In the breathtaking scenes, James Bond’s famous Aston Martin will be involved in high-speed car chases and spectacular crashes on the Gardesana Road and along the Tremosine gorge.
From April 18 to 20, the first James Bond weekend will take place in the film locations: it will be an authentic journey in the world created by Ian Fleming. Consorzio Riviera dei Limoni, in cooperation with EConsorzio Veneto Lago di Garda ’ and Ingarda Trentino, will promote several cultural events and food and wine gatherings for authorities, journalists, fans, and tourists. The event is called “Il Cerchio Giallo” [The Yellow Circle].
Texan novelist Raymond Benson, who continues the work of Ian Fleming, will be the guest star and will meet 007 fans on several occasions.
There will also be exhibits, a conference dedicated to Garda as a “film set”, and a food and wine show with Bond menus served in various places along the lake, from Gargnano to Malcesine.
An exhibit on the legendary James Bond will open at the Tourism Museum of Limone sul Garda on April 18 and will be open for the entire period that the movie is being filmed.
The exhibit will pay homage to James Bond and his creator through film posters, rare book editions, comic strips, caricatures, merchandising objects, gadgets, toys and other rare collectibles.
The first Italian editions of Fleming’s books, original illustrations by Carlo Jacono for the cover of the Bond adventures published by ‘Segretissimo”, set photos, model cars, dolls portraying Connery and other 007’s will also be on display.
A major section of the exhibit will present over 30 cartoons and caricatures of the actors who played Bond, which are on loan from the Comic Exhibit of Amadora, Portugal. The Tourism Museum will also have an info point providing all the latest updates on the filming.
