Yolanda and Jacqueline of Gibraltar, loved their first taste of learning holidays last year on our boot camp and detox holiday in Spain, that they decided to go on another GoLearnTo.com holiday this year.
But this time they decided to try their hands at two new skills on our photography and cooking holiday in Morocco.
“Last year my friend and I went on your boot camp and detox retreat in Alicante and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to book again through GoLearnTo.com for this year’s holiday.”
Why photography and cooking?
As we had both recently bought new cameras we thought it would be a good idea to do this photography course in Essaouira. We decided to go with the photography and cookery holiday as we thought it was a great combination.
What were the other people like on the course?
There were 6 of us on the course. Most of us got along brilliantly and shared a lot of laughs and we have kept in touch.
How did you rate the teaching?
Teaching was quite good for both photography and cookery. Only problem I found was that they offer the course to start either on Fridays and Saturdays and personally I don’t think it works. Everybody should start on the same day as we started on Saturday and I felt we had missed the basic and for me most important lesson on the camera. Even though Darren gave us a short run through the next day, being complete beginners I felt we had missed out.
What were the highlights of your holiday?
Going to the beach to take photos of the sunset was great! Cooking our harira and lamb tagine with Naima was a lot of fun too and the nights at Taros sharing stories with the rest of the girls were brilliant.
How do you feel now you’ve done the holiday – have you been inspired to keep up your photography and cooking in your free time?
Wonderful – have cooked the Moroccan dishes at home for the family and we are trying to keep up with the photography.
How was your booking process with GoLearnTo.com?
Very straightforward – No problem at all.
Would you recommend this holiday to anyone?
Yes definitely. Essaouira is a lovely place in Morocco with a more relaxed attitude that you would find in Tangiers or Marrakech. The Riad Maison du Sud we stayed at was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. The food throughout was very good especially the fresh fish in the fish shacks and with Darren and Naima as your hosts you cannot go wrong. Wonderful experience.
