Tucked away near the charming French village of Caulnes in the heart of Brittany, these delightful French farmhouse and cottages are the setting for your aromatherapy and perfume course.
Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy in that it works on the person as a whole. It is an excellent way of treating minor ailments, stress and negative emotional states and has the power to lift and restore you.
Taught by a highly qualified aromatherapist, discover the alchemy of plants and their essences on this unique course that will take you on a journey to gain a deeper understanding of how to use aromatherapy to compliment your daily life.
Combine an introduction to aromatherapy with an introduction to perfumery where, using high quality organic essential oils, you’ll learn to create your own signature perfume. During the weekend you’ll also have the chance to make your own hand or foot creams as well as indulge yourself in a complimentary mini-pampering treatment to round off the weekend nicely.
Enjoy a relaxing wellbeing holiday full of good food, wine, company and learn new aromatherapy, perfume and beauty product making skills in a fun ‘house party’ atmosphere for a holiday with a difference.
Suitability
- Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with an interest in aromatherapy and perfume making who would like to take their skills to the next level
- Minimum age: 16 (under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult)
- Please note that aromatherapy is not suitable for women in the early stages of pregnancy
- Please note that this course requires a minimum of 2 people to run, please contact us to check availability and minimum numbers
- This course is also available for intermediate and advanced levels on request
Travelling Solo?
- This course requires a minimum of 2 people to run but if you are travelling solo you can join an existing group
- This aromatherapy and perfume course makes a great singles holiday as you can have your own cottage or bedroom in a shared cottage without paying a single supplement

- If you wish to bring a friend who does not want to take part in the aromatherapy and perfume making classes, they are welcome to share a room with you and prices for the non-participating guest will be discounted accordingly, please see the costings tab for the price and guests can be added at the time of booking
Aromatherapy And Perfume Course Start Days
- The course runs on set dates throughout the year
- All arrivals are on Thursday and departures are on a Sunday

Aromatherapy And Perfume Weekend Itinerary
Day 1 – Thursday
- You may check-in to your room anytime after 2pm on Thursday afternoon
- Take the afternoon to settle into your accommodation
- Enjoy welcome aperitifs with the hosts and other guests around 7pm
- Following your drinks, sit down to a delicious home cooked 4 course French meal with wine and enjoy an evening with your hosts and the group
Day 2 – Friday
- Start your day with a typical French continental breakfast in your cottage
- After finishing your breakfast you will sit down with your fellow guests around 10am for a 2 hour introduction to aromatherapy, essential oil theory and the art of perfume making
- At 11am coffee and biscuits will be served to break up your first 2 hour session
- A light buffet lunch is served around midday
- At 2pm you’ll learn to make your own hand and foot cream as well as learning to blend your own aromatherapy oils tailored to suit your body type
- Afternoon tea is served after your session and there’s some free time to relax and try out your new aromatherapy oil blends before dinner
- Around 7.15pm, gather for drinks with your friendly hosts Chris and Kim before another wonderful 4 course dinner with wine
Day 3 – Saturday
- Continental breakfast in your cottage again this morning
- Around 10am, start your second day with your perfume course
- Coffee and biscuits served at 11am after which you’ll put your perfume theory into practice to start the perfume making process using organic essential oils
- Light buffet lunch served at midday
- This afternoon spend 2 hours getting creative and learning more about the essential oils as you create your own unique perfume or therapy oil (yours to keep)
- At the end of the afternoon, indulge yourself with a personal pamper time as you enjoy a mini treatment of your choice (head, foot or hand massage)
- After an afternoon at leisure practicing your aromatherapy, enjoy a well earned drink around 7pm before another fantastic 4 course Aromatherapy dinner
Day 4 – Sunday
- On your final morning, savour your final French breakfast in your cottage before checking out of your room and taking home with you aromatherapy and perfume making skills and an insight into the benefits of this holistic therapy that will stay with you long after the holiday is over
About Your Aromatherapy And Perfume Tutor
- Your tutor will visit the farmhouse to teach you each day and will join you during your coffee breaks and for lunch
- Your tutor qualified in Oxford with a diploma in Aromatherapy and also is qualified in massage as well as being a registered nurse
- She is passionate about aromatherapy and the healing power of using this along with natural, organic products to benefit your health and wellbeing
- Your tutor also has experience in using organic essential oils to create perfume blends using top, heart and base notes and combining these for a balanced perfume to suit your personal tastes
About Your Hosts
- Passionate about excellent hospitality your hosts Chris and Kim have dedicated years developing award winning accommodation and famous gastro pubs in the United Kingdom (including The Stackpole Inn, Pembrokeshire), understanding all the elements needed to make a perfect holiday
- It is a passion which has led them to convert beautiful traditional farmhouse accommodation into fairytale cottages, welcoming people through their doors for the past 3 years
- Chris and Kim will join you each evening for dinner and will be on hand throughout your stay
What Will I Learn?
- Aromatherapy is both holistic and practical in that it helps to protect the body’s life-saving immune system and energize or stabilise emotions
- On this course you will learn about highly potent essential oils that can be used to heal and lift you and to promote general wellbeing
- You'll gain an understanding of the benefits of the essential oils and their impact on individuals as well as learning the best way to use the oils
- You’ll also learn to create your own perfume using organic, natural essential oils understanding how to select ingredients, balance the top, heart and base notes and how to create your own scents once back home
- Your tutor will also teach you to create your own hand or foot creams
Your Accommodation And Meals
- You'll stay in your own private room in a cottage with off road parking
- Lovingly restored to the highest standards whilst retaining their original rustic charm the 4 fairy tale cottages are set in acres of Breton orchards, close to amenities to be convenient but far enough to enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding area
- Each cottage has bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen/dining area and sitting room with quality bed linen and wooden furnishings
- Please note that you may have your own cottage or a private bedroom in a shared cottage
- Beautifully decorated with all modern appliances and south facing with private terraces
- All meals and refreshments are included throughout your stay
- Note: Transfers from the airport can be booked as an optional extra on request
