You will be taught to speak French by highly qualified native French speakers who have a passion for teaching and use proven language teaching techniques.
Lessons are highly interactive and you will speak French from day 1 both inside and outside of the classroom. You will focus on communicative French but will cover all four main language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, each day will see you increasing in confidence.

French Courses Start Days
- French courses start on Mondays throughout the year
- If you book the optional accommodation with this French course, you’ll check-in on Sunday before the course starts
How Will I Learn French?
- French courses are focused on having fun and classes are highly interactive
- Lessons are based on communicative French and you will cover the four main French language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, French press, audio/video, French songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
- Please note all French lessons will be held in the native language of French; a proven teaching technique that will fully immerse you in the language and accelerate your learning experience
Free Time In Rouen, Normandy
Many people on these French courses travel solo as they make perfect singles holidays so the French language school organises a host of social and cultural activities each week to help you to get to know your fellow classmates and to integrate you into the French way of life, some activities are free and others have a small charge and may include:
- Theatre visits, French films, sports activities, cooking lessons, chocolate making classes, visits to Rouen’s historical gardens, restaurant evenings, visits to local radio and TV stations and swimming
- Weekend excursions to Paris, Monet’s garden at Giverney, Normandy landing beaches, Mont Saint Michel and more
- Conversation club
- You will have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found language skills or just kick back and relax on this language holiday with a difference
French Course Schedule
- Classes run daily Monday through to Friday each week
- Classes start at 9.30am each day
- You will have 3 group classes per day lasting 60 minutes each
- You will have a 30 minute break around 11am
- On your first day, you’ll have an orientation day where you’ll arrive at 8.30am for an oral level test and will start lessons at 9.30am
- In the afternoon of your arrival day, there’s an orientation of the school and walking tour of the town to help you find your way around Rouen
French Language Level Test
- Please arrive at the school by 8.30am on your first day for a short oral level test
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers to place you in the right group class for your level
- Written level tests must be done at least 7 days in advance of arrival and will be sent to you shortly after booking
Other Information
- We recommend you bring a small dictionary, pens and paper with you
Optional Accommodation
- This language school offers optional accommodation staying with a local French family to immerse yourself in the French culture and practice your French or in the student residences
