Course itinerary
Whether you are a wine novice or a connoisseur, on this 4 hour course you will learn about the history and wine making techniques of Tuscan wines and what makes these Italian wines so unique.
You will be taught by a Doctor of Agronomy who specialises in Enology and is extremely passionate about wine. This course will give you the opportunity to taste Tuscan wines, learning how to distinguish them by colour, smell and the most important of all, the taste.

What Will I Learn?
- On your visit to the school’s vineyard you will learn about the grapes, climate and soils needed to produce wine
- In the wine cellar you will hear about the history of Tuscan wine and how it is made
- How to serve wine, what glasses to use
- How to taste and describe the wine’s taste using the Aroma Wheel, a tool used to describe the complexity of wine flavour
- The principle of food and wine pairing
- How to buy wine – selection techniques
- Sample many delicious Tuscan wines such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Carmignano Riserva, Vino Noblie di Montepulciano and more
Other Information
- This school offers a transfer service from a central meeting point in Florence city centre to the cooking school which can be added as an optional extra during the booking process for 10 Euros per person for a return trip each day
