Course itinerary
Go learn to cook in this elegant manor house situated in Portel, a beautiful village inland from Lisbon close to the border with Spain and learn to cook simple but authentic Portuguese dishes using fresh, local produce.
This is a hands-on class, so don your apron and chef’s hat, roll up your sleeves and get ready to start cooking.
Taught by professional chefs in a kitchen that opens up to the courtyard with views of the surrounding countryside, you’ll relax at the end of your cooking lessons to eat the delicious meal you’ve cooked accompanied by a glass of local wine.

Cooking Lesson Start Days
- Classes run on selected dates throughout the year
- If you can’t find the dates you are looking for, additional classes can be requested so please email with your preferred date and we’ll see if we can add a class for you
Cooking Class Schedule
- Classes on Mondays start at 6pm, you’ll cook and then eat dinner together
- Classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays start at 11am, you’ll cook then eat lunch together
- Cooking lessons last approximately 2.5 hours and will end after you’ve finished your meal

- How to cook a traditional Portuguese 3 course meal
- You’ll also pair the right wine with your food before sitting down to enjoy your dinner or lunch
