Note: The cooking school is in the village or Portel in the Alentejo region of Portugal.

Car hire:
We strongly recommend car hire with the one day and short break cooking course as the cooking school is located in a rural villa in the village of Portel which lies East of Lisbon close to the border with Spain and public transport is limited. The village is not far from the UNESCO site of Evora.
The distance from Lisbon to Portel is 170km and the journey by car will take approximately 2 hours.
For the 7 night holiday transfers to and from Portel are included as are daily transportations to villages and for excursions, though car is the best way to explore the area after your cookery holiday if you wish to extend your stay in the area. This 7 night holiday includes 1st night accommodation in a central hotel in Lisbon and from the airport to the hotel a taxi will cost about 20€ and take no more than 15 minutes.
