Holiday itinerary
Learn how to Flamenco dance in the heart of Andalucía. Tucked away in the orange-tree lined streets of Seville this Flamenco dance school is used by locals and visitors alike from beginners to professional dancers.
Your experienced dance teacher will help to develop your Flamenco dancing skills during Friday and Saturday before visiting an authentic Flamenco dance show on Saturday evening.
Many classes are accompanied by a Flamenco guitarist and singers as you learn how to express yourself as a Flamenco dancer as you develop your understanding of the relationship between the Flamenco guitar, singers and dancer.
Get more from your weekend in Seville and stomp around the floor with your new found Flamenco skills.
Suitability
- Suitable for all levels
- Minimum age 18
- Courses are taught in Spanish but most tutors know some English
Flamenco Dance Class Start Days
- Courses start on selected Fridays
- There is a minimum number of 2 persons to run the weekend course, if there are 2 persons in your party, please email with the weekend you require and we'll be able to check availability for you very quickly
- If you are a solo traveller, you may be able to join an existing group, please also email with the dates you require
Flamenco Class Schedule
- Your Flamenco dance lessons will be spread across 2 days
- Your lesson on Friday will start at 6pm until 8.40pm with a 10 minute break
- On Saturday your lessons will start at 11am until 2pm leaving you plenty of free time during the day to explore Seville
- On Saturday night at 9pm you will meet with the other students to watch an authentic Flamenco dance show in Seville, the birth place of Flamenco
What Will I Learn?
- You will learn about the different Flamenco dance techniques
- Master your compàs and palmas skills, the use of feet, voice and clapping to accompany Flamenco dance
- How to identify the various Flamenco rhythms
- You then have the opportunity to put your new Flamenco skills into practice during your Flamenco dance lesson
What Should I Wear?
- Wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in
-Wear shoes suitable for dancing, ideally with a sturdy, low heel
About Your Dance Tutors
- There are 6 Flamenco dance tutors at the school
- Each tutor uses their own unique style and technique of teaching Flamenco dance
- All of the tutors are talented instructors with a wealth of experience and show a true devotion to dancing
- All six tutors have worked with various artists and been taught by great maestros such as Matilde Coral, Javier Latorre, Mario Maya and Eva la Yerbabuena
Free Time in Seville
- Take in the history of Flamenco in the beautiful city of Seville
- Visit the many museums, churches, theatres and galleries in the area
- You will have plenty of free time to explore the local area or just kick back and relax on this learning holiday with a difference
Looking for accommodation?
- You can book accommodation in a shared apartment with other students for 2 or 3 nights
- Accommodation is reasonably priced and can be added for either 2 nights from Friday or 3 nights from Friday during the booking process
