Holiday itinerary
Whatever your level; choosing to combine Spanish lessons in Granada, Spain with semi-private Argentinean Tango dance lessons is the best way to start your learning experience. Immerse yourself in the local culture and take home two new skills that will stay with you long after your trip is over.
You will be taught by highly qualified native Spanish speakers who have a passion for teaching and use proven teaching techniques.
In the evenings, put on your dancing shoes and learn to dance to the sultry rhythm of Argentinean Tango, taught by highly qualified and passionate instructors from Uruguay in Latin America.
You will also have the opportunity to visit a tango ballroom and put your lessons into practice at a Milonga on Friday for a true Tango experience.
Immerse yourself in the local culture and progress rapidly practising your new found language and dance skills in your free time.
Suitability
- Classes start on Mondays throughout the year for elementary to advanced levels
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced on all dates in 2015

- Tango lessons are suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced dancers (Please note dance lessons will be held in Spanish)

Who Are Our Guests?
- People come from all over the world and you’ll never be placed in a class with just English speakers so that you use the language you are learning rather than resorting to chatting in English
- Ages vary, but the typical language learner falls in to the 20-60 age bracket though we have no age limit and we’ve had guests in their 70s and 80s studying languages with us
- During the summer and in university holiday times the average age typically drops and there are many guests in their 20s
- Over 90% of our language learners travel solo and every school organises social and cultural activities to help you get to know others at the school outside of class
- Of course, everyone shares a passion or interest in discovering a new language and culture
Spanish & Argentinean Tango Holiday Start Days
- The school is open year round with a break for Christmas
- Classes start on Mondays

Spanish Course Schedule
- Spanish classes run daily Monday through to Friday each week
- Spanish lessons run from 9am-12.15pm
- You will have 4 group classes per day lasting 45 minutes each
- You will have a short break between each class
Argentinean Tango Dance Course Schedule
- Tango lessons run twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday between 8pm and 10pm
- You will have 2 Tango lessons in total per week lasting 120 minutes each
- Your dance lessons will take place at the language school (please note a handling fee is included in the price of this package)

- Outside of your lessons, on Mondays you can visit a local ballroom and on Friday a Milonga
- Please note that under exceptional circumstances the visit to the milonga and the ballroom may not take place in certain weeks
How Will I Learn Spanish?
- Spanish courses are focused on having fun and classes are highly interactive
- You will focus on the four main Spanish language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, Spanish press, audio/video, Spanish songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
- Please note all Spanish lessons will be held in the native language of Spanish; a proven teaching technique that will fully immerse you in the language and accelerate your learning experience
How Will I Learn Tango Dancing?
- You will be taught by professional Tango dancers from Uruguay in Latin America
- You’ll learn the history of the dance and the basic moves if you are a beginner, more advanced choreography will be taught if you have previous experience of Tango
- The Tango lessons are semi-private with a maximum of 2 in the class
What Should I Wear For The Tango Dance Lessons?
- Wear comfortable clothes that you can move easily in
- Wear shoes suitable for dancing Tango, ideally with a sturdy, low heel
Free Time in Granada
Many people on these holiday courses travel solo as they make perfect singles holidays so the language school organises a host of social and cultural activities each week to help you to get to know your fellow classmates and to integrate you into the Spanish way of life, some activities are free and others have a small charge and may include:
- You will have the chance to take part in different activities such as tapas tours and excursions to the Alhambra and around Granada
- Your teacher will help you find Tango clubs to practice your dancing
- You will have plenty of free time to explore the local area and practice your new found language skills or just kick back and relax on this learning holiday with a difference
Spanish Language Level Test
- Please arrive at the school by 8.30am on your first day for a short level test
- This test will assess your understanding of the language and will help the course organisers to place you in the right group class for your level

- We recommend you bring a small dictionary, pens and paper with you
Optional Extras
- This school offers transfers to and from Granada airport for an additional charge; you can book transfers during the booking process
- This school offers additional Spanish lessons in the afternoon that can be pre-booked or booked on arrival if there is availability (email for more info)
- This language school offers a choice of optional accommodation either staying with a local Spanish family to immerse yourself in the Spanish culture and practice your Spanish or in a shared apartment with others
