Caribbean Coast, Playa Colorada, Venezuela

Holiday itinerary

This is no ordinary Spanish language course; you’ll combine Spanish lessons with a host of adventure trips visiting some of the best locations Venezuela has to offer.

Some of the time will be based at the lodge by Playa Colorada beach with some weeks spent camping or on an expedition to fully experience Venezuela life whilst practising your Spanish in practical situations.

You’ll fit in 20 Spanish lessons each week around activities that include salsa dancing, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, mountain trekking, camping, snorkelling and much more during this 5 week unique ‘travelling classroom’ activity holiday.

Get more from your holiday, learn Spanish, experience all that Venezuela has to offer as you immerse yourself in the local culture, have fun and take home a new language skill that will stay with you forever.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced Spanish learners
- Minimum age 18

Who Are Our Guests?
- People come from all over the world and you’ll never be placed in a class with just English speakers so that you use the language you are learning rather than resorting to chatting in English
- Ages vary, but the typical language learner falls in to the 20-60 age bracket though we have no age limit and we’ve had guests in their 70’s and 80’s studying languages with us
- During the summer and in university holiday times the average age typically drops and there are many guests in their 20’s
- Over 90% of our language learners travel solo and every school organises social and cultural activities to help you get to know others at the school outside of class
- Of course, everyone shares a passion or interest in discovering a new language and culture

Physical Fitness

- The physical aspects are not overly challenging, but a reasonable level of fitness is recommended as the weather can be extremely humid and you will be outside most of the time
- Climbing Mount Roraima is the most physical and sometimes mentally challenging part of the expedition as you will be climbing a mountain, depending on the time of year it may get cold, rain, etc. However the team is here to help anyone that struggles
- You will also get the opportunity to gain fitness in the optional team fitness mornings which take place on the beach, hills etc. there is also a basic gym for anyone wanting to use it

Travelling Classroom Spanish Course Start Days
- This unique learning holiday runs on set dates throughout the year

- You will focus on the four main Spanish language skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening
- There will be individual and group work such as role plays and conversation practice in practical contexts
- You’ll also work on developing your grammar in practical contexts
- You will learn with a wide range of teaching aids; language text books, Spanish press, audio/video, Spanish songs or games and each week your linguistic skills are assessed to ensure you are always in the right group for your level
