If you are looking for a true Italian cooking holiday focusing on the classic Italian dishes then this pizza, pasta and gelato making cookery holiday is for you.

You’ll spend 3 nights in one of two comfortable hotel options (The Green House Hotel or the Palmento Relais) depending on availability, and your cookery classes will take place in the traditional Italian style kitchen of the beautiful Villa Capo Santa Fortunata in a relaxed environment. Your accommodation will be based just a short drive from the villa where your cookery lessons will take place (you will be picked up from your accommodation and driven back). Both hotels are located near the beautiful Italian coast line where you will be free to soak up the southern Italian sunshine or visit the Island of Capri.

During your cooking classes you’ll learn to cook pizza in a conventional oven so you can easily recreate the pizza back home for your friends and family or just for yourself!

The cookery school is an authentic, family-run business where you'll learn the local secrets to preparing Italian cuisine. Get stuck in and become part of the family as you immerse yourself in the Italian way of life.

Taught by passionate cooks, you'll spend your first day learning how to ‘throw’ pizza bases in order to get the perfect texture as well as mastering the art of delicious and simple fresh pasta that any Italian grandmother would be proud of, and a mouth-watering variety of sauces to accompany it.

The second day is dedicated to the frozen masterpiece, gelato. You’ll spend a couple of hours learning to make traditional gelato, ice cream cakes and sorbetti using the best technique and combination of flavours to capture the lightness of this wonderful Italian delicacy.

- Suitable for all levels from beginner cooks to advanced chefs
- Minimum age 18 (under 18s accepted accompanied by an adult)
- All classes are taught in both Italian and English

Pizza, Pasta & Gelato Making Cookery Holiday Start Days and Schedule
- Course arrival days are Monday to Friday and Sunday
- If you are arriving on Friday you will have your classes on the day of departure at 11.30am
- Your first day of cooking lasts between 2-3 hours as you focus on pizza & pasta
- Your second day focuses on gelato and starts at 11.30am lasting around 2 hours and is mainly demonstration
- Cooking classes usually start around 11.30am, though when there is only one person confirmed on the Pizza, Pasta and Gelato holiday your lesson may be changed to 4pm to join other guests taking another holiday
 

Pizza, Pasta & Gelato Making Cookery Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
- You may check-in to the hotel after 2pm
- The afternoon and evening are free for you to spend at your leisure
- For arrivals on Friday, you will have your lessons on Saturday and the day of departure at 11.30am

Day 2 and 3
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel
- The morning and evening are free
- You will be picked up from your hotel accommodation by car to go to the villa for your cookery lesson (the pick-up times will be confirmed on arrival)
- Your cooking lesson starts at 11.30am and finishes around 14.30pm
- You’ll focus on learning to make a delicious Italian pizza and pasta on day 2 
- Once you’ve cooked, you’ll sit down to enjoy the food you have cooked
- You'll have a 2 hour gelato making lesson on day 3 including a demonstration from your traditional chef
- Once your cookery lesson and meal are over you will be driven back to your hotel accommodation
- Please note that if you are arriving on Friday there are no lessons on Sunday, so your lessons will take place on the day of departure.

Day 4
- After breakfast guests are asked to check-out of their rooms by 10.30am ready for departure taking home with them new cooking skills from Sorrento


About The Cooking School

- Depending on the size of the group, you'll either be taught by Head Chefs Palmira or Biagio, or if you are lucky, both of them!
- Palmira has always had a great passion for cooking, which started when she was 8 years old helping her mamma to cook traditional Italian dishes in the kitchen
- Palmira has over 10 years experience working with Biagio, and has put all of her fantastic experience into practice by now becoming the head chef for the cookery school
- She will teach you how to cook with a sense of fun and charm as she shows you how to practically recreate the dishes once you head home - Biagio has worked in a number of different Italian restaurants worldwide and he also ran his own restaurants in Naples and Sorrento before setting up this cooking school in the early 1990's
- Biagio's wife, sons and daughters also all work and help run the cooking school and accommodation so this is a really traditional family-run school
 

What Will I Learn?
- You will learn to make simple rustic Italian hom cooked dishes
- You’ll spend your first day learning to make the perfect pizza base and fresh pasta as well as a variety of fresh traditional toppings and sauces
- Pizza will be made in a conventional oven so that you learn the skills to make pizza back home (note: if you want to learn to make pizza in a wood oven, we recommend our week long pizza making course)
- On your second day you’ll learn all about the ingredients essential for making the perfect gelato, semi freddo and gelato cakes
- Then it’s onto a demonstration of how to use the ice cream making machines and learning the techniques needed to create your own unique flavours


Course Accommodation – Hotels Green House Hotel or Il Palmento Relais
- You will be staying in one of two comfortable hotels located just a short drive away from the Villa Capo Santa Fortunata and your cookery classes will take place in the villa's traditional Italian-style kitchen meaning you can fully immerse yourself in Italian culture and cooking
- Your accommodation is a short walk from the beautiful coast line
- The hotels have 5 rooms in total each, including 5 twin/double rooms for the Palmento Relais and 4 double rooms and 1 triple room at the Green House Hotel
- All bedrooms are fully air conditioned, have a bathroom with a shower, TV and internet access
- Accommodation is included for 3 nights / 4 days
- Check in any time between11am - 8pm on day 1 and check out by 10.30am on day 4

Free time in Sorrento

- Sorrento is a fantastic location as it is perfectly placed to visit all of the surrounding areas, the beautiful countryside of Campania, the incredible Amalfi Coast and the archaeological site of Pompeii
- Set on the cliff tops of the bay of Naples that stretched all the way to Mount Vesuvius it is also a perfect place to visit the magical island of Capri


Excursion to Capri
- Excursions from the school to the fabled Island of Capri can be arranged for you by the school and booked in advance
- You will be taken directly from the accommodation to the boat where you will sail the Sorrento coast line, you will have 3 hours of free time to visit the island after which you will meet the skipper who will take you on a cruise around the beautiful Island
-  A packed lunch will be provided by one of the chefs from the school. If you would like to add this excursion then you can do so in the extras section of the booking process
