Ideal for beginner divers, you'll learn to scuba dive in one of the most beautiful diving areas in the world and practise pre-dive Hatha yoga in order to master all the elements that will improve your diving; breathing, relaxation, concentration and flexibility, perfect for all abilities.

Stay for 7 nights, 8 days in the charming white wash traditional style hotel, surrounded by fantastic views of the coast, coral reefs and impressive mountains.

This yoga and beginners diving course is completely unique and the first of its kind in the world. Led by two experts in their field, you will benefit from the harmony of the two complementary disciplines of yoga and diving.

Your dives will be conducted in small groups with experienced PADI professionals who are also Yoga Teachers and practitioners.  You will be diving in an ecologically responsible and sensitive way whilst enjoying the serene beauty of the coral reefs.

There is nowhere better to combine the peace and tranquillity of Yoga and the art of Scuba diving than in Dahab. Experiencing the quiet relaxation of the Sinai desert and the colours of the Red Sea on this unique beginners diving and yoga course will be an experience beyond compare.


Suitability
- This course is suitable for beginner divers and those with little confidence diving

- Yoga is suitable for all levels from experienced yoga practitioners and complete beginners alike
- Minimum age 16 (if you are under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult)
- You must be able to swim
- Please note there will be between 2 and 5 in a diving group maximum 20 in the yoga group
- Please talk to your GP if you are on any medication or if you suffer from any ailments that are contra-indicatory to diving
- Please note that before confirming availability we will require the following information from you:
- Your diving skill level
- If you have any health issues & if you are on any medication as a result
- Whether you are PADI certified, or if you wish to get PADI Open Water certification
- Guests are encouraged to buy their PADI manual before departure or on site if they do not have one
- The Open Water Certificate will be paid for on site


Travelling Solo?
-  These yoga holidays make great singles holidays and singles can book a private single room for a small supplement (note: there are no shared rooms)
-  Please note that this course is very popular with female solo travellers as Dahab is a very safe location, the teachers are very sociable and may organise group dinners for you to get to know fellow guests and locals
- Single travellers must book a private single room for a supplement which can be added at the time of booking (there are no shared rooms)

Yoga And Scuba Diving Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
- Check into your accommodation from 2pm and have the afternoon and evening free to settle into the area and your accommodation
- Your classes will begin on day 2

Days 2 - 7
- There is one 1.5 hour yoga class per day (days 2 - 7)
- During the week you will have 4 days of diving (2 dives a day, time and day to be confirmed on arrival.  Be sure to check on arrival as your first dive might be on day 2!)
- Each day begins with an 8 am yoga class which teaches you breathing and stress management techniques preparing you for the active element of diving- You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel every morning
- After breakfast you will gather at the dive centre and ‘kit up’ on the first day
- Once you have your kit it remains with you for the duration of the course (lockers are provided)
-  On your first dive you will begin with a very gentle introduction to the equipment and breathing techniques underwater
- All dives are shore dives as there is no need for boats in Dahab as  the reef  begins at the shoreline
- You will take a break for lunch to enjoy the delicacies that this small Bedouin town has to offer before taking your second diving lesson of the day in the afternoon
 - In the evenings the group may choose to go out to eat together, group dinners may also be arranged for guests to get to know one another and the locals, these meals will be charged as  extra

Day 8
- You will enjoy breakfast in the morning before checking out at 10.00am taking with you new skills and memories that will last long after your holiday is over


Yoga Studio
- The yoga school has a purpose built indoor yoga studio at the hotel, built into the side of the mountain providing an ideal area of nature and calm to practise yoga
- Weather permitting, you will also practise your morning yoga session on the beach front
- All staff are highly qualified with a wealth of experience, teaching beginners to advanced yogis


About Your Yoga Teachers
- All of the yoga teachers have taught for a minimum of 10 years and are accredited by the Yoga Alliance, most of them have been teaching for 30 years or more, there are no teachers that have "fast track" yoga certification so you can rest assured you’ll be taught by professionals with plenty of experience and a passion for yoga
- The yoga classes cover the physical teachings of yoga with emphasis on the spiritual and holistic aspects of the yoga tradition in general
- All teachers base their classes on Sivananda Yoga, a gentle form of yoga that focuses on breathing and relaxation but all classes will draw from different types of yoga to tailor the classes to each individuals needs
- Some of the teachers also bring elements of Hatha, Iyengar yoga and Dr. Prabhakar's Ashrama yoga Sadhana


About Your Diving Instructors
- Your teachers include a recreational and technical dive instructor with over 16 years diving experience
- Having completed over 5000 dives she is knowledgeable professional, encouraging and patient
- Another of your Yoga diving instructors is a PADI instructor, IANTD technical diver and meditation practitioner
- Considered a 'zen diver' he brings his meditation practice to his diving instruction


What Will I Learn?
- Yoga practice will be adapted to suit your needs and can cater for all levels from complete beginners to advance yogis in each class
- Your yoga classes will be largely based on Sivananda yoga and will cover Asanas (Physical Movements), Pranayama (Breathing practices), Meditation (Stilling and calming of the mind & inner self) and Relaxation (Complete mind, body relaxation)
- In addition the yoga emphasises correct breathing for diving and stress management
- Beginner divers will learn diving in an open, respectful and natural way and receive a relevant PADI open water certification (if desired)
- As a beginner you will dive in shallow, easy locations while still surrounded by the beauty of undersea life; no swimming pool work is necessary as tuition is either one to one or in a very small group with your instructor
- All diving groups are small so instructors can spend as much time as possible with the individuals
- Relaxation and safety are the goals of your diving and skills are taught at your own pace
- The course is taken at the pace of the student, not the instructor and there is no pressure to complete certification unless you feel ready and comfortable to do so


Qualifications For Beginner Divers
- Beginner divers can obtain either the PADI Open Water, PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Discover Scuba certificates on this course
- What you choose depends on your abilities and how much you want to 'work' on your holiday
- All your options will be discussed with you on arrival
- Beginners are encouraged to read the PADI Open Water Manual before coming if at all possible and bring it with you
- A copy of the manual is available at the dive centre if you cannot get this at home


What To Bring For Yoga
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move easily in for your yoga practice
- It can be hot in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practising in hot weather if you are travelling in the height of summer
- Yoga mats are provided


About The Accommodation – Bedouin Moon Hotel
- Stay in a simple, friendly hotel with just 29 rooms built on 2 floors set in a peaceful location on its own private beach
- The hotel is a white-washed, traditional-style building set at the base of a mountain about 1km north of the centre of Dahab and also where the yoga studio is located
- The en-suite rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and all the rooms have breathtaking views either over the mountains or sea (seaview rooms are charged extra)
- Each room has a small terrace or balcony and en-suite shower and toilet
- Prices are based on two sharing a twin or double room with a mountain view and all rooms have air conditioning
- Single travellers can book a twin/double room for sole occupancy for a compulsory single room supplement
- Please note that shared rooms for solo travellers are not offered on this holiday and singles must pay a compulsory single supplement for their own room
- Upgrades are available to a sea view room for a supplement (subject to availability)
- Accommodation is included for 7 nights / 8 days
- Check in anytime after 2pm on day 1 and check out by 11am on day 8
- Breakfast is provided at the hotel each day


Meals
- Breakfast is included each morning and is taken in the hotel's own restaurant
- For lunches and dinners, you might choose to eat at the Bedouin Moon hotel's restaurant and bar
- Alternatively you can travel to the centre of Dahab, which is a short 15-20 minute walk from the hotel (or a 5 minute taxi ride) and there are many bars and restaurants to explore here selling a variety of different food


Free Time In Dahab
- During your free time enjoy the hospitality of the picturesque Dahab (only 15 minutes walk away) wander through its streets, watch locals playing backgammon or smoking hookah pipes
- You can sit by the pool and soak up the sun and stunning views or make the most of the hotel’s private beach
- Your hosts will also give you lots of information on what activities are on offer in the local area which include trekking, mountaineering, wind/kite surfing and many excursions
- You can also visit famous Mount Moses and St Katherine’s Monastery
- Why not take a walk in the desert enjoy a dinner or a night with the Bedouin people and turn your reenergising yoga holiday into a cultural experience as well
