Slow down to the pace of Turkish life on this unique yoga holiday. Stay for 7 nights / 8 days in the pretty town of Side, just one minute’s walk from the beautiful beaches and Mediterranean Sea.
Practice yoga each morning and evening in a fun and friendly environment and unwind physically, mentally and spiritually recharge during your stay in this magical, exotic place.
Enjoy the flexibility of a yoga holiday that gives you plenty of free time to simply relax by the beach or to enjoy a range of activities such as nature walking, cycling, and meandering through the winding streets soaking up local Turkish life or shopping in Side’s bustling old town.
Stay in the yoga centre right in the middle of the old town of Side, just a stone’s throw from this beautiful, historical Turkish town. Mix yoga with all the usual fun holiday activities and return home relaxed, revived and with a new found enthusiasm for your own personal yoga practice.

- Yoga holidays are suitable for all levels from complete beginners to advanced yogis
- Minimum age 16 (under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult)
Travelling Solo?
- These yoga holidays make great singles holidays as most rooms are designed for solo travellers with private single rooms and bathrooms with no single supplements

- There is one double room suitable for two sharing and non-participating partners can share this room for a price of £170 which covers accommodation, breakfasts and two dinners

Yoga Holiday Start Days
- All arrivals are on Sundays on set dates from April through to October
- Holidays are for 7 nights / 8 days so you’ll arrive Sunday, start your lessons Monday and leave the following Sunday morning
- Other dates may be available so if you can’t find the date you are looking for, please email us and we’ll do our upmost to get availability for you as quickly as possible
Yoga Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:
Sunday
- Arrival day, check into your room anytime after 2pm and take your time to explore the lovely old town of Side and the beaches
Monday – Friday (practice yoga 5 days out of the 6, you will have one full day off during the week)
- 7:45am enjoy your first yoga practice including Pranayama and Yoga Asana
- After yoga, a buffet breakfast will be served around 9.30am
- You will then have a yoga session in the evening (time confirmed daily)
- The evenings are free to head to one of the many cafes or restaurants in town that are within easy walking distance
- On Monday evening, enjoy a welcome Turkish dinner with the group and your hosts
- You have a free day to yourself on Wednesday
- There will be no yoga lessons on Wednesday
- On Friday evening you’ll have your farewell Turkish dinner with the group
Sunday
- Today is departure day so after breakfast head back to the airport feeling relaxed, restored and revived with the skills and knowledge to continue your practice back home

Where Will I Practice Yoga?
- Yoga is usually practiced outside in the colourful shaded oasis, or in our beautiful yoga shala. You will also have the chance to visit the beautiful temple of Apollo to practice yoga one day during the week
About Your Yoga Teachers And Dates For Their Classes
- Your hosts are Jo Prakash and her partner Murat
Jo Prakash - 4, 11 & 25 May, 1, 15 & 22 June, 6, 13 & 27 July, 7,14, 21, 28 September 2014
- Your host and teacher Jo was introduced to yoga as a child and practiced in India before moving to Europe. Here she trained in Madrid with the school of Sivananda before becoming accredited with the Yoga Alliance, with an RYT500 status and the UK supporting governing body REP’s, with a Level 3 qualification
- Jo teaches on all weeks where there are no guest teachers scheduled
- She specialises in Hatha flow yoga which is gentle yet dynamic
Tina Hohage - 8 June 2014
- Tina primarily teaches Vinyasa flow & Ashtanga
- She focuses on physiological problems that we encounter on a day to day basis such as back pain, stiff neck, tight hamstrings etc.
- She gained her 300+ Vibrant Living Yoga teacher certificate in Bali
- Tina has a keen intereste in yogic philosophy that she is happy to share during the classes if you wish
Blanche Mulholland - 29 June-6 July
- Blanche bases her yoga teaching on Vinyasa flow
- She puts en emphasis on the awakening of the sense within our natural environment
- She has been passionate about yoga since her first yoga class 10 years ago
- She started studying Iyengar yoga and then moved on to Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin Yoga
Jonathan Cain 21 September
- British born Jonathan's teaching is based on Hatha flow
- His work is also inspired by teachings of Scaravelli that take root in Buddhist mindfulness
Even if you’ve never tried any of the different yoga styles taught by the different teachers before, the lessons will always start gently and will help you build your confidence during the week to deepen your practice and encourage you to develop your yoga skills during your stay
What Will I Learn?
- Yoga practice will be adapted for all levels from complete beginners to advance yogis
- Your yoga classes will be based on different yoga styles depending on which teacher is teaching for the week you are travelling (for more information, see the ‘About your yoga teachers’ section above or email with your preferred date of travel)
- Yoga practice will cover Asanas (physical movements), Pranayama (breathing practices), Meditation (stilling and calming of the mind & inner self) and Relaxation (complete mind, body relaxation)
- The small groups allow you to explore alignment within your pose as well as fluid movement from one pose to the next working with our teachers to deepen your practice whatever your level
- The teacher will give you one-to-one attention giving you the confidence to develop a home practice
What To Bring
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your yoga practice
- It can be hot in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practicing in hot weather
- Yoga mats are not provided so please bring your own or you can buy a mat from the yoga centre on arrival if you prefer
Treatments / Massages
- The following massages and treatments are available if you wish to book a treatment locally during your stay:
Holistic Face, Head & Scalp Massage
- This deeply relaxing massage using a blend of essential oils begins at the shoulders & neck using carefully applied pressure to target the nervous system easing away stresses and strains and bringing body and mind back into balance
- Gently moving up on to the face using a variety of massage techniques and by applying gentle pressure to points on the face will remove any facial tension, lift and tone and balance the energy, or Chi that has a wonderful effect on the whole body
- Finishing with a deeply relaxing scalp massage
- This treatment is 45 minutes long and costs £35.00 (to be paid locally)
Hopi Ear Candle
- Thermal Auricular Therapy (also known as Hopi Ear Candles) is a pleasant and non-invasive treatment of the ears, used to treat a variety of conditions
- The ear candles induce a revitalising heat within the ears, which soothes, relieves and relaxes
- We use Biosun Ear Candles all made from the traditional Hopi Indian recipe
- Heat from the candle helps to stimulate the peripheral blood circulation, which in turn boosts the immune system and reinforces lymphatic drainage
- Great for treating Tinitus, compacted ear wax and glue ear, sore throats and hay fever, headaches and migraines, rhinitis and sinusitis, catarrh and asthma, regulation of pressure in ears and head, relaxation in conditions of anxiety and stress
- Following the candling, indulge in relaxing facial massage to encourage the beneficial effects of this treatment
- Massaging and stimulating reflex zones/vital energy points on the face ending with a totally chilll-axing scalp massage
- This treatment is 45 minutes long and costs £35.00 (to be paid locally)
About The Accommodation
- Your accommodation is set right in the centre of Side old town, said to be one of the most historic Antik villages in Turkey
- There are a total of 8 rooms
- If you are travelling solo, stay in a private single room with your own en-suite shower room
- Double/twin rooms with en-suites are also available for friends travelling together (please request these at the time of booking if 2 people are travelling together)
- All rooms have a lovely outside seating area overlooking the pretty gardens
- Each room is simply furnished with Turkish influences in the décor
- Daily maid service is included and free internet connection is available
- Accommodation is included for 7 nights / 8 days
- Check in anytime after 2pm on day 1 and check out by 11am on day 8
- Note: If you need to arrive earlier or later on day 1, that can be accommodated for an extra charge
- Extra nights at the accommodation can be added, but please check for availability
Meals
Breakfast/Brunch
- Buffet breakfast is included each morning
- Turkish style breakfast includes, tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, olives, boiled eggs and a fresh basket of bread as well as fresh fruit, local honey and jam natural yoghurt and a selection of cereals
- Unlimited tea, coffee, green tea, herbal teas and fruit juices are provided
- Special diets will be considered with advance notice, but please bear in mind that in a small Turkish village, specialist ingredients (dairy/wheat/vegetarian cheese replacements for example) are not readily available
Dinner
- Two evening meals are served during the week
- You’ll have a welcome dinner on Monday evening and also a farewell dinner on Saturday evening
- Dinners will consist of typical Turkish dishes which might include:
- Soup
- Mixed salads with lemon juice and olives from the garden
- Acile Ezme – a hot spicy mashed tomato with onion and herbs
- Cacik – cucumber with mint and olive oil
- Kuru Fasulye – white beans in a rich tomato sauce
- Chickpeas, aubergine, rice, cous cous and more traditional dishes
- Meals are predominately vegetarian
- If you are vegetarian, vegan or have dietary requests these must be communicated to us at the time of booking
Free Time In Side
- During your free time enjoy the picturesque town of Side, wander through its myriad of streets to discover local shops, cafes and stop for a while to drink in the views across the sea or just kick back on the beautiful beaches
- Your hosts Jo and Murat will give you lots of information on what activities are on offer in the local area such as the local nature walks, boat trips, bicycle hire, visiting a village family, mosque visits and more
- You could also visit the city of Anatalya
- Visit the Aspendos theatre built in 167 A.D and the Temples of Apollo and Athena
- Head to the Manavgat waterfall to cool off and visit the nearby restaurants and shops
Visas
- Most nationalities need a visa to enter Turkey, which for EU citizens and UK Citizens can be purchased on arrival for approximately 10 Euros/£10
- Other nationalities should check visa requirements with the embassy
