Holiday itinerary
This yoga retreat makes the perfect weekend getaway being less than an hour from Malaga airport and around 17km from the coastal town of Nerja set in the pretty village of La Rejana, between the two ancient townsof Torrox and Frigiliana.
This weekend yoga break is perfect for a de-stressing, relaxing and refreshing yoga holiday. You'll stay in a beautiful Spanish country house with wonderful views over the countryside out to sea. Not only are there comfortable rooms and a spacious and light yoga studio but you can also relax on the lovely terraces.
Your yoga sessions will leave you invigorated in the mornings and with a great sense of relaxation in the evening, taking place in either the light and airy yoga studio with sunroof or on the extensive terrace with fantastic views over the mountains and sea.
Your talented and friendly tutor Mirka, an Iyengar yoga practitioner, draws on her 20 years of experience and the teachings of BKS Iyengar along with her interest in anatomy, Ashtanga and Auyverdic yoga to ensure you gain the most from your weekend yoga sessions.
Wonderful vegetarian meals will be provided daily and you’ll enjoy delicious regional specialities made using fresh and seasonal local produce.

Yoga Holiday Start Days
- The yoga weekend runs on set dates in May and October only
- Yoga holidays are for 3 nights/4 days so you'll arrive Friday and leave Monday
- If dates appear ‘on request’ please email us and we’ll check availability for your preferred day of arrival as quickly as possible
Yoga Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:
Day 1 – Arrival day
- You can check into your room anytime after 2pm, take your time to explore before dinner
- You will have an evening yoga class on Friday at 5.30pm, the day of your arrival
- A delicious welcome Mediterranean style vegetarian dinner is served this evening to help you get to know your host and fellow guests
Days 2-3 – Yoga
- You will have 2 yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday, one in the morning around 8am and another in the evening around 5.30pm
- Around 10am, you will enjoy a leisurely breakfast of fresh fruits, cereals, breads, eggs local honeys and preserves along with different cheeses
- You can take the rest of the day to relax, wander the local villages, hike in the mountains, cycle, horse ride or even windsurf
- A light lunch will be served early afternoon where you can eat on the beautiful al fresco terrace and soak up some Spanish sun
- At 5.30pm, you will join fellow guests for your second yoga practice of the day with an emphasis on calming and tension releasing postures, relaxation and breathing
- After your class around 8pm you will enjoy a wonderful vegetarian evening meal of fresh and locally sourced seasonal produce
Day 4
- You will enjoy one final yoga session on the morning of you departure day
- Today is departure day and you’ll be asked to check out of your room by 3pm ready for your returning home feeling relaxed, restored and revived
Your Yoga Tutor
- Your expert yoga tutor Mirka has many years’ experience teaching yoga in the UK and Spain
- Mirka teaches Iyengar yoga and brings in elements of other yoga styles throughout her teaching
- She studied Iyengar yoga under well-known teachers such as Sylvia Prescott, Shyam Mehta, Jan Podebsky and Rosamund Bell and started her studies at the Iyengar institute
in Maida Vale
- She draws on her interest in anatomy, alternative medicine and her artistic background (she studied Fine art in Poland) as well as her yoga knowledge and experience throughout her classes and you will find her friendly yet professional approach will give you a new found enthusiasm for your yoga practice
- She believes that through dedicated practice we learn to tune in to our body and mind improving our lifestyles, diet and goals in life
- Mirka moved to Spain in 2010 to set up her yoga school and teach in a fun and friendly holiday atmosphere to inspire your practice and to truly relax, revive and restore you after your stay
What Will I Learn?
- The style of yoga taught is predominately Iyengar
- Mirka’s teaching is also inspired by her knowledge of Patanjali Ashtanga and Ayurvedic yoga to give you an insight into other yoga styles
- Yoga practice will cover Asanas (physical movements), Pranayama (breathing practices), Meditation (stilling and calming of the mind & inner self) and Relaxation (complete mind, body relaxation)
- The small groups allow you to explore alignment within your pose as well as precision and selective relaxation into the posture to deepen your practice whatever your level
- Yoga sessions are suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those who regularly practise and sessions will be tailored to suit your level as group sizes are small
What To Bring
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your yoga practice
- It can be very warm in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practising in hot weather and warmer clothes for cooler nights
- Yoga mats are provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer
Optional Therapies
- Yoga therapies are available to book for an additional cost and can be arranged on arrival with your yoga tutor
- Choose from personal change work, healing, Neuro-linguistics, Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT), Energetic Balancing, Ayurvedic massage, Thai massage, deep tissue massage, reflexology and reiki
The Accommodation
- The yoga retreat is located in a pretty village with wonderful mountain views, swimming pool, large outdoor terraces for outdoor yoga practice or relaxing, socialising and unwinding in the sun
- The yoga studio is spacious and light with wooden floors, sunroof and outstanding views over the mountains was formerly an artist’s studio
- The retreat sleeps a maximum of 9 people in three bedrooms and a small self-contained room with kitchenette
- Bedroom 1 sleeps 3 people and overlooks the ornamental pond
- Bedroom 2 sleeps 1 person and is a lovely cosy room with its own garden entrance
- Bedroom 3 is a large room that sleeps 2 and is situated on the first floor above the yoga studio
- The 3 bedrooms are simply furnished with traditional stone floors, comfortable, light and airy and all 3 share two bathrooms, each with shower, sink and toilet
- There is also a small house which is a self-contained building sleeping up to 3 people in an L shaped room with sleeping and sitting area, small kitchenette and shower room
- Accommodation is included for 3 nights/4 days in a twin/double room and prices are based on 2 sharing a room
- Solo travellers who do not wish to pay a single supplement can reserve the private single room (subject to availability) or can share a room with someone of the same sex (subject to availability)
- If you prefer you can reserve a private room for a single supplement
- Check in any time after 2pm on day 1 and check out by 3pm on day 4 (check in before 2pm is also possible)
- Wi-Fi is available at the retreat
- Your hosts have a cat and a golden retriever, however they are not allowed in the guest premises except the dog who is allowed to sit in the hall by the studio while the teaching goes on
Meals
- A lovely breakfast is served at 10am each morning
- A light lunch is also served
- Delicious dinners are served each evening around 8pm
- The meals served are vegetarian and include seasonal and local produce
- If you have dietary requests these must be communicated to us at the time of booking
Free Time In Spain
- Outside of your yoga classes, you have a host activities to do in your free time
- You relax on one of the wonderful beaches located within 15 minutes’ drive, go cycling, hiking in the surrounding mountains, horse riding or just meander through the streets of the surrounding villages
