The yoga and detox program focusses on removing toxins from the body and cleansing the body mind and soul through a mixture of ancient ayurvedic techniques and modern nutrition. A unique ayurvedic herbal formula is used to detoxify and purify the body, as well as exceptional yoga lessons, the latest far infrared sauna therapy sessions, and Chi Nei Tsang therapeutic abdominal massages.

Suitability
- This yoga and detox program is aimed at those who are looking to revolutionise their lifestyle, diet and body in order to lead a more fulfilling and healthier life
- This is achieved through a number of approaches which have been researched in depth and tried and tested to improve inner and outer wellbeing
- You must be fit and well (we advise you to check with your doctor in advance of the course) to start the detox programme
- The yoga and detox retreat is not suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, persons awaiting or recovering from major surgery, persons with advanced chronic infections, persons with advanced cancer, severe kidney or liver disease, persons who are significantly underweight, are suffering from anorexia or bulimia, persons suffering from mental illness, including schizophrenia and severe depression
- The retreat will need to be aware in advance of your stay if any of the following apply to you - user of prescription medication, steroids, "social" drugs (alcohol, tobacco, recreational drugs), pain killers, over 65 years of age, persons suffering from type 1 diabetes, very low or high blood pressure, cancer, epilepsy, heart failure, kidney failure, liver disease and stomach ulcers

- It is important to seek medical advice regarding any health concerns before participating in a detox program and the health of the individual is their own responsibility
- The yoga taught is suitable for all levels of yogis from complete beginners to advanced and is typically Ashtanga style

Preparation Before Detoxing
It is suggested that at least 7 days before arrival at the yoga and detox retreat you restrict your intake of the following substances:
- Alcohol/drugs/cigarettes, caffeine, white sugar, white flour, red meat, fried foods, processed foods and table salt
You are encouraged to increase your intake of the following foods at least 7 days before your arrival:
- Fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh juices, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and at least two litres of water per day
- Note: More details about adjusting to normal life after the retreat will be given to you at the retreat
Travelling Solo?
- Prices are based on two friends or a couple travelling together and sharing a room
- Singles must reserve a private single room at a compulsory single room supplement for the yoga and detox retreat to ensure maximum privacy and to have your own private bathroom (for prices, please see the costing and extras tab)
Yoga and Detox Retreat Start Dates
- Arrival days are flexible and the course runs daily from January to August so you can arrive any day that suits you
- The course duration is 7 nights/8 days
- If you wish to stay for extra nights either to continue the detox or just to stay for extra days taking yoga classes, please email to check availability and prices for your preferred duration and we will do our best to accommodate you
- All holidays are on request so please email us and we’ll check availability for your preferred day of arrival as quickly as possible
- Please note that this retreat is very popular and sells out quickly so we recommend you book in as early as possible to avoid disappointment
Yoga And Detox Retreat Itinerary
This itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group and individual’s detox needs and at the teacher’s discretion but is typically as follows:
Day 1
- Arrival day, check into your room any time after 4pm and take your time to explore the retreat
- Your first group welcome meeting will be at 5pm where you will be enjoy an introductory talk about the course and what to expect
- Don’t worry if you arrive later than 5pm, you’ll join the class the following morning instead
- You will then have time to relax and enjoy the steam room which is open between 6pm and 8pm for your use, the meditation garden or take a walk by the sea
Days 2-7
- 6.30am enjoy morning cleansing practices and detox herbs and supplements to set you up for the day
- Breath-work sessions, pranayama and meditation sessions begin at 7.15am
- Guided asana practice follows on at 8am which has been specially adapted for the detox program and Ashtanga yoga may also be taught depending on the experience of the group
- Enjoy a healthy breakfast at 10am of fruit and juices, and also detox herbs and supplements with your fellow students
- You will have free time between 10am and 3.30pm to indulge in detoxifying therapies, explore the local area, head to the beach or simply rest
- The will be a detox support meeting some days at 1pm, exact days are to be confirmed upon arrival
- Enjoy educational talks at 4pm on topics such as your health, the benefits of the detox, healthy balanced nutrition, discussions on digestive health, and how to lead a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle
- At 5pm you will have your second yoga asana and breath-work lessons, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalised
- After your yoga lesson dinner will be served at 6pm and will consist of vegetable broth, juices, detoxing herbs and supplements and herbal tea
- The evenings will be free for you to unwind in the steam room, take advantage of detoxifying therapies, meditation or relax at the stunning retreat
Day 8
- Today is departure day and check out will be at 12 noon, and you will return home feeling relaxed, restored and revived with the skills and knowledge gained from your time at the yoga and detox retreat

The Yoga And Detox Retreat Diet
- There will be a restriction in diet to focus more on cleansing and alkalising the body and mind through a specially created detox plan
- The main components of the detox is the retreat’s unique ayurvedic herbal detox formula and also ‘Kitcheri’, a stew made from mung lentils, rice, ghee and ginger which cleanses the liver
- The detox nutrition plan also includes fibre and super-food supplementation, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh wheatgrass, detox juices, soups and broths and freshly made herbal teas
Where Will I Practise Yoga?
- Yoga is usually practiced in the yoga shala which looks out onto the tranquil mediation gardens, blue sky and turquoise sea
- The yoga shala offers 150m of space that can be divided up into smaller rooms for smaller groups
- Note: There is always at least 1 teacher for every 10 guests although groups may be combined in one room
- Ashtanga yoga is usually taught but other yoga styles may also be taught
About Your Teachers
- The retreat has been operating since the mid 90’s and is run by a husband a wife team who are dedicated to healthy living
- All of the teachers have taken their advanced teacher training programme at the retreat
- Teachers are from all over the world and have practiced in their own countries as well as teaching at the retreat in Thailand under the guidance of owner and yoga tutor Paul and his team of teacher trainers who themselves also teach across Europe, the USA and Asia
- All yoga teachers are specifically taught to adapt the Ashtanga classes to complete beginners as well as more experienced levels
- Your tutors together bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of complementary health and wellbeing, asana, pranayama and meditation
- All of the detox therapists and nurses are highly trained and skilled assuring you of an excellent treatment experience
What Will I Learn?
- Yoga lessons will always start gently and will help you build your confidence during the week to deepen your practice and encourage you to develop your yoga skills during your stay
- Yoga classes will include guided asana practice specially adapted for the detox program to focus on breath-work and individual needs
- Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style will be available for those with an established self-practice and restorative yoga, pranayama and meditation will also be offered
Optional Extra Treatments / Massages
- Massages and wellness treatments are available and if you wish to book a treatment, the staff on reception can help you arrange treatments during your stay
- Treatments include Thai massage, reflexology, hot stone massages and more
- All treatments are paid for locally and prices are reasonable

- The eco-friendly retreat has a total of 40 guest rooms set in beautiful gardens
- The retreat where you’ll stay is a unique blend of dedicated yoga retreat beautiful beach accommodation and wellness centre
- With guest houses nestled into the retreat and semi-private beach surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the retreat truly is an oasis of serenity and the perfect setting for your yoga and detox retreat
- Most rooms open up to a spectacular view over the sea or meditation garden, views may be more limited in some areas but all rooms benefit from a private balcony to look over the grounds of the retreat
- The rooms are wonderfully spacious and decorated to high standards
- There are three room types available at the retreat:
- Standard twin rooms – these rooms are particularly good for sharing as they are set on 2 floors with one double bed downstairs and one double bed upstairs on a mezzanine level offering a degree of privacy for sharers, and you will both share a bathroom
- Private single rooms - if you are travelling solo, you must pay a supplement for your own private single room with a private bathroom
- Rooms have a large writing desk, storage cabinet that can be locked and can accommodate laptops, there is also a kettle, refrigerator, two ceiling fans, and air conditioning
- There is a strong emphasis to keep eco-friendly standards using 100% natural non-bleach cotton sheets and towels, solar-powered hot water, mosquito screens for cross ventilation, energy-saving magnetic key card, low energy appliances, photo sensor light switches, low-flush water-saving toilet and rain water harvesting
- The retreat grows fruit trees and has a herb garden
- At the retreat you will also find two wellness centres with treatment rooms and herbal steam room, wellness reception and lounge, a saltwater swimming pool, a restaurant that serves delicious vegetarian cuisine and a juice bar
- The wellness centres offer a number of detox and wellness programs for general health and wellbeing
- The two wellness centres are also equipped to take you through a full detox program followed by guidance on how to continue living in a way that supports you, your body and your mind
- Daily maid service is included and free internet connection is available

- Check in anytime after 4pm on day 1 and check out by 12noon on day 8
What To Bring
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your yoga practice
- It can be hot so please bring clothing that will be suitable for hot weather
- Yoga mats are not provided so please bring your own or you can buy a mat from the yoga and detox retreat shop on arrival if you prefer
Free Time In Koh Samui
- During your free time enjoy the picturesque private beaches which are right on your doorstep
- Some guests may take a taxi to the nearest town (20 minutes away) to shop, visit bars and cafes and soak up Koh Samui life
- The reception desk will give you lots of information on what activities are on offer in the local area such as nature walks, boat trips, snorkelling, scuba diving and more
Visas
- Most nationalities need a visa to enter Thailand, which for UK Citizens are issued free of charge on arrival if the stay is less than 15 days although you should check exact visa requirements with the embassy as we cannot give visa advice
- Other nationalities should always check visa requirements with the embassy
