Spend 7 nights/8 days based in self-catering accommodation a stone’s throw from the beach in the bustling harbour town of Corralejo and enjoy the stunning landscapes and excellent surf conditions on your 5 days of lessons in this amazing area of Fuerteventura.
The island offers some of the warmest and most consistent waves in all of Europe so it’s a great year round destination boasting of 300 days of sunshine. Spend five days surfing world class waves with a professional instructor in glorious sunshine, whether you are new to surfing or an experienced rider looking for the best spots, the excellent surf instructor will ensure you get the right waves for your level.
Groups are kept small so that your instructor can ensure personal tuition, you’ll enjoy a total of 20 hours surf lessons spread over 5 days. The lesson times will be confirmed the day before and will sometimes be in the morning or sometimes in the afternoon depending on conditions.
Corralejo is a pretty but lively town and the surf school hosts offer make the perfect local guides, organising optional group evening meals or activities to make sure everyone experiences as much of the area as possible.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those that have surfed before and are looking to perfect their technique
- Lessons are usually taken on the same beach with mixed abilities unless you are advanced in which case you may be taken to another surf location with more challenging conditions depending on the weather
- The exact beach where lessons take place will vary according to conditions that day but you will be transported in the surf school van to each location
- Must be able to swim
- Minimum age 18
- Surfing is great fun for everyone but it’s best to bear in mind that it can be physically demanding sometimes
- Lessons taught in English
Travelling Solo?
- These surf holidays make great singles holidays as singles are allocated their own private bungalow for a single supplement, click on the 'costing and extras' tab to check the single supplement prices
- The majority of people who take these courses are solo travellers and it’s a sociable course
- Richie the instructor and guests often arrange social events in the evening and go out for dinner or a drink together as a group
- Note: shared single rooms are not offered at this accommodation

Surfing Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows:
Day 1 Arrival
- Arrive at Fuerteventura airport and be transferred to the bungalow accommodation in Corralejo
- You will be able to check into your room anytime from 12pm
- You will have time to settle into the surf accommodation and explore the nearby beach or town centre or just get straight into holiday mode and relax by the pool
Days 2-6 - Surfing
- You can take breakfast by preparing something in your kitchenette in the bungalow or head to a nearby cafe
-The exact time of your lessons and location will vary but transport will be provided to take you to the best beach for your lessons that day in the surf school van
- You will have 4 hours of surfing lessons each day for 5 days
- Lessons may be in the morning or afternoon so you will be able to enjoy a mixture of free mornings and afternoons
- You are free to take breaks when you want, if you feel tired you can sit on the beach and soak up some sun
- Shops and cafes are all within walking distance so you can visit the town with your fellow surfers for lunch or relax back at the accommodation in your private bungalow on the terrace, by the swimming pool or have a game of tennis on its tennis courts
- In the evenings you may want to head into town for your evening meal with fellow surfers
Day 7 - Free day (exact day may change)
- One of the days during the week will be a free day, the day itself will be confirmed on arrival and may be during the week to give you a rest day during the surf lessons
- You are free to hire a board and practise your techniques, take a stroll to the local cafes and shops, relax with a good book by the pool or enjoy exploring the island of Fuerteventura
Day 8 – Departure day
- You are asked to check out of your bungalow by 12pm but you can leave your bags in the lock up and use the shower facilities if you have a later flight to catch so there may be time for one last swim or beach trip before you head home
About Your Surf Instructors
- Your fully qualified instructor Richie is British but has resided on the island for a number of years
- As well as teaching in the Canary Islands, Richie has also surfed in Australia, Ireland, Venezuela, Spain, Portugal, the Dominican Republic, and France
- He always receives excellent feedback and his patient teaching skills and passion for surfing make him a great teacher no matter what level of surfing you have
- Richie tailors the experience to your needs and level to make sure you get the most from your surfing tuition
- He is keen for all guests have a great experience, and is also keen to share his excellent local knowledge with you and other guests
What Will I Learn?
- As a beginner or intermediate you will learn the following:
- Elementary water safety and self-rescue technique
- How to stand on your board beginning with a knees to standing action (slower) to mastering a ‘pop up’
- Theory lessons on types of breaks, waves and currents
- How to control the board in the water
- Where and how to position yourself to catch a wave
- How to clear the breaking zone and deal with white water
- Line up positioning
- How to paddle to catch the waves
- How to balance standing and lying on the board
- To understand your surf board, where to find the rails, the nose, the stringer and the sweet spot!
- How to catch green waves (the wave just before it breaks)
- The small size of the island and the fully equipped surf school vans mean that its easy to transport students to the best waves each day, expertly matching the conditions to your ability
- Lessons are often taken with mixed abilities in the same classes but if this is not possible then abilities may head to different locations:
- Beginners will be taken to beautiful sandy beaches with ideal conditions for confidence building
- Intermediates may head to beaches, or first time reefs developing their technique each day
- More advanced surfers will be shown the best breaks and will be taken to more challenging reef breaks to surf during the week
Self-Catering Bungalow Accommodation
- This is a self-catering holiday so no meals will be provided during your stay
- Your accommodation is located in Corralejo and there are many delicious restaurants and cafes a few minutes’ walk from the bungalows, and each bungalow has a kitchenette should you wish to prepare your own meals
- You’ll spend 7 nights / 8 days in a tranquil bungalow quietly tucked away within bougainvillea and hibiscus shrouded gardens backing onto the pool area
- There are 17 bungalows altogether, most are 1 bedroom with twin beds
- There is a limited number of bungalows with double beds for couples – if you’d like one of these bungalows please make a note in the special requests section at the time of booking and the team will try and accommodate you
- There are just 2 bungalows with 2 bedrooms
- Each bungalow has 1 or 2 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and bathroom and a lovely terrace area
- Bungalows are cleaned every other day and are a perfect retreat to relax and take time out for yourself during your stay
- There are two pools and tennis courts which are free of charge to use (bring your own racket and tennis balls)
- Surf lessons take place on various beaches nearby depending on the weather conditions, they are between 10 and 30 minutes’ drive away and transportation is provided by the surf school
- Prices are based on 2 people sharing a room and bathroom in either a 1 or 2 bedroom bungalow
- If there are 2 people travelling together, you will be allocated in a 1 bedroom bungalow where possible
- If you are travelling solo, you will be allocated your own private 1 bedroom bungalow for a compulsory single supplement which can be added during the booking process
- Check-in is on arrival day after 2pm and check-out is on day 8 by 12pm

- This surf holiday is action packed but if you can drag yourself away from the waves, you may wish to explore all that Corralejo and Fuerteventura has to offer
- Corralejo is a lively town that offers a wealth of excellent local restaurants, bars and shops to discover
- The island of Fuerteventura offers a wide range other water sports to offer too – from windsurfing, kite surfing and S.U.P surfing, to scuba diving, sea kayaking and sports fishing to mention only a few
- You can even go tubing down water slides in Correlejo’s waterpark
