This adrenaline packed holiday course includes accommodation within 100 metres of beautiful beaches, kitesurfing lessons, use of top quality equipment during your lessons, transfers from surf camp accommodation to the different kite surf spots in Famara beach and much more.
You will be taught by highly qualified, experienced instructors who are committed to having you up on your board and riding the waves in no time.
With 5km of sandy beaches, protected waters and predominant northeast winds, Famara beach in Lanzarote lives up to its name as an excellent place to learn kitesurfing.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced kite surfers who have kite surfed before, and who are looking to perfect their technique or upgrade their IKO level
- Must be able to swim
- Minimum age 18
- Kite surfing is great fun for everyone but it’s best to bear in mind that it can be physically demanding sometimes
- Lessons can be held in English and Spanish
Travelling Solo?
- These kite surf holidays make great singles holidays, and singles will have a shared room in the Famara Surf House
- Alternatively, solo travellers can book their own private apartment in La Santa for a compulsory private single apartment supplement, click on the 'costing and extras' tab to view the single supplement prices
- You’ll get to meet lots of people from all walks of life
Kite Surf Course Start Days
- This kite surf holiday runs from 1 March to 1 October
- The kite surf camp program can begin on any day of the week, including Sundays
Kite surfing Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows. Please note: the meeting time for classes varies daily with weather conditions. You will always be contacted by SMS the day before, and if schedule changes:
Day 1 – Arrival
- On your arrival you can check-in at the kite surf accommodation in Famara or La Santa any time after 11.30am
- You will have time to settle into your accommodation and take a look around the village.
Days 2-6 – Kite surfing
- On your first day of lessons you will meet for your transfer between the surf camp (Famara or La Santa) and your kite surf beach, where you will be kitted out with all your equipment for the week and your lessons will begin
- You will have 4 days of theory and practical kite surfing lessons
- Please note times and days of your lessons will depend on the wind and tides conditions; your instructor will keep you informed on a daily basis though you will usually have around 3 hours a day
- In the evenings you are free to explore the Island and it’s many attractions, or stay Famara or La Santa to enjoy a glass of wine in the animated night life
Day 7 – Free day
- You will have the day to brush up on the skills you have learnt over your 4 days of kite surfing, alternatively you can relax on the shoreline, chill on the beach or explore other places on the island
Day 8 – Departure day
- After breakfast you will check out of your accommodation by 10.00am
What Will I Learn?
- All lessons will include the kite surfing basics according to your level such as water safety, kite surfing techniques, kite surf etiquette and wave selection, according to the IKO program
- Your instructors will adapt their tuition to suit your needs and ability
- Theory lessons will include coastline knowledge, rips, local conditions, safety issues, weather forecasts and more
- During each kite surf lesson you will have 2 goals to work towards, as you work towards your goals the instructor will give you personal feedback to help improve your technique
- You will learn all about the safety issues
- The theory and technical aspects of kite surfing
- How to control the kite and launch in the sea
- Body dragging in the water
- Tacking upwind without a board
- One handed kite flying
- Turns and riding upwind
- Getting up on your board and riding in the water experiencing the true thrill of kite surfing
- As an intermediate kite surfer, certified kite surf instructors will work with you improve your kite surfing techniques, such as, perfecting your style, duck diving, cut backs, front side and back side turns and more
- Please note that some people may advance quicker than others due to weather conditions, as well as how quickly you familiarise yourself with the techniques
- It is essential that guests allow some flexibility in lesson timings as weather conditions cannot always be guaranteed
Kitesurf Equipment
- High quality kite surfboards, wetsuits, kites, harnesses and helmets will be supplied during the lessons
- The school will provide excellent equipment from a wide range a kite surfboards that will be suited to your personal needs
- The kite surf school is a NAISH PRO and Rip Curl Pro Centre so you will have the opportunity to use the latest material of these leading brands
Kite Surf Camp Accommodation
- The accommodation for the package price is based on a shared room in the nearby modern Famara Surf House
- For those who will be travelling solo, you will be placed in a shared room in the Famara Surf House
- Please note you can pay a compulsory private single supplement to upgrade to a private apartment in the Surf Complex at La Santa
- La Santa is a slightly busier village than Famara and is about 15mins drive away if you decide to stay in a private apartment in La Santa, you'll be collected and taken back to La Santa before and after your lessons
- For those travelling in groups of two or more you will have your own private apartment in the La Santa Surf complex, for more details and to check availability please email
- Free Wireless Internet Hotspot is available at Famara surf House and there are many other free wi-fi spots and internet cafés in Famara and La Santa
Famara Surf House
- The Surf House accommodation in Famara is a modern Spanish house just 30 metres from a beautiful beach right in the centre of Famara.
- The surf house has 4 bedrooms which can sleep up to 12 people, with same gender shared rooms or couples twin rooms
- There are also 2 living rooms which are great for meeting fellow kite surfers and surfers, 3 bathrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens and a terrace with hammocks and views of the beach and ocean
- Other facilities include a BBQ area, TV, DVD player and CD/radio and Wi- Fi
- The surf house is basic but clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of everything in Famara
- There are 3 small supermarkets nearby with cafes and bars as well
- The Famara Surf House is the perfect option for students who want to socialise with other surfers
- Please note it is not possible to have a private room in Famara Surf house though you can upgrade for a compulsory single supplement to have a private apartment in the La Santa Surf Complex, for more information on see the ‘costings & extras’ tab of the course page
La Santa
- The Surf Complex in La Santa is made up of several apartments where you will find other surfers of different nationalities and a great place to kick back and relax between your kite surf lessons
- The modern apartments will have 1 or 2 bedrooms, a bathroom dining room, kitchen and most will have a terrace with ocean views
- Please note that a single supplement will apply to your booking if you wish to have a private apartment in La Santa for sole occupancy, for more information on see the ‘costings & extras’ tab of the course page
Kite Surf Camp Accommodation Location
Both accommodation options are near the kitesurf beaches and transport will be provided daily free of charge.
Famara
- The Surf House is located in Famara, within 100 metres of the beautiful beach
- Famara has several restaurants serving typical local cuisine
- You will also find 3 small supermarkets, several bars, surf shops, bike rental and weekly live music
- There are no safes in the rooms
- There is no ATM in Famara the nearest cash point is in Teguise, though credit and debit cards are widely accepted
La Santa
- The Surf Complex in La Santa is located 15 minutes from Famara
- Surf Complex is just 100 metres from the ocean with direct views of some of the best surf spots in Europe including El Quemao and Morro Negro
- There are many restaurants in La Santa all serving international cuisine
- You will also find supermarkets, several bars, an internet cafe, surf shops, bike rental and nightclubs
Free Time in Lanzarote
- In between your kitesurf lessons you will have the opportunity to hire the equipment to practice your new found skills
- Explore the small fisherman towns along the northwest of Lanzarote and take in the unspoilt natural landscape by foot or rent a bike
- Or you can head to Famara’s 5km of stunning beaches and simply kick back and relax on this holiday with a difference

Weather Conditions
-For safety reasons, lessons can only take place if the weather conditions permit so please be sure to check the weather conditions with the school in advance of arrival
- As a result of Lanzarote’s geographic location, the kite surf school has great conditions for kite surfing
- In the unlikely event that the conditions mean you cannot take a lesson, lessons may be offered on alternative days, though this cannot be guaranteed
- Please note that if an alternative day cannot be offered , alternative activities will be offered (e.g surf lessons)
- If you are unable to participate in the alternative activity, you will receive a voucher which will state the number of hours of kite surf lessons you have remaining, and this can be redeemed within one year of the date issued
- No refunds will be given if lessons are missed due to weather conditions
