About the location
This beautiful chateau is located in the charming village of Bouliac, just ten minutes from Bordeaux city centre. Bordeaux, renowned for its gastronomy, is the oldest wine region in the world and the charismatic and elegant city is recognised as a UNESCO world heritage site.
The breathtaking chateau dates back to 1852 and is nestled at the heart of 7 acres of beautiful grounds. All bedrooms boast period furniture and stunning garden views, making this chateau a fairy tale base from which to explore all that Bordeaux has to offer.
The cooking school is housed in the chateau’s Orangerie, a former wine cellar dating back to the 19th century. It offers a fully equipped professional kitchen and a traditional bread oven as well as a dining room, so you’ll find everything you need for your French cooking lessons and wine tastings.
Suzanne is the owner of the property and has extensive experience managing vineyards in France and is also the hostess for your French cooking course. Her relaxed yet informative style of teaching, her passion for food and wine and her insider knowledge of the Bordeaux region will all help you to really make the most of your French cooking holiday.
