About the location
The typical white pueblo of Torrox is situated in the heart of Andalucia between Malaga and Nerja. Its beautiful mountain location provides you with narrow winding streets, hidden squares and rich Spanish culture to explore and be inspired by.
The excellent location of Torrox offers breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea and its surrounding countryside is an ideal place to take a walk and relax after your day of painting. However, if you prefer beach life to the countryside, the excellent beaches of the Costa del Sol are within a 10 minute drive from the village.
If you have booked the painting holiday, you will stay in the charming Hotel Alandalus, which has and has been decorated in a traditional style with original rustic charm.
The hotel has a restaurant and terrace with views over the hills, and is fully equipped with all modern conveniences such as TVs and air conditioning, a restaurant, and an outdoor terrace with stunning views over the lovely views over the Andalucian mountains to ensure your stay is comfortable, homely, and idyllic.
If you have booked the photography holiday, you will stay in one of the 8 charming renovated Moorish houses in the beautiful village of Torrox. These old Spanish houses have been skilfully renovated and are well equipped with all modern conveniences including washing machine, fridge, iron, ironing board, hairdryers and showers. Most houses have English TV/DVD and all have terraces with wonderful views over the village, the mountains in the background or the sea. Wifi is available in the houses.
Your hosts are passionate about art, painting and photgraphy and you will enjoy your painting lessons in the outdoor studio space or photography lessons on location in beautiful surroundings under the guidance of the resident professional artist or photographer. During your course you may have the option to take part in day trips offered by your hosts to many more inspiring locations where you can choose to paint or simply relax and take in the Spanish lifestyle.
