About the location
The setting for your painting holiday in Italy is your hosts, artist Caroline Crawford and her husband Andrea’s wonderfully welcoming farmhouse in the historic hilltop town of Camerino.
There are two farmhouses set in a local nature reserve; one is for your hosts and painting course participants stay in guest farmhouse that has three bedrooms, a swimming pool, wonderful light and airy artist studio to inspire your creativity as well as a delightful terrace for al fresco dining.
The hilltop town of Camerino is poised on a ridge between two river valleys and is on the border between central Le Marche and Umbria. The town’s historic centre offers impressive architecture, pretty courtyards, small shops and cafes to while away the hours, Piazzas and magnificent views of the Sibillini mountains which are guaranteed to capture your imagination as you put brush to canvas.
The Le Marche region of Italy is famous for its delicious food and wine, natural beauty, spectacular mountain landscapes and unspoilt medieval villages. The area also houses over 90% of Italy’s shoe manufacturers as well as the infamous Prada fashion outlet. The Armani outlet is 15 minutes drive away.
For creative types with a passion for good food and wine, Le Marche region boasts 7 D.O.C wines and delicious organic produce including wild boar and the famous truffles and your host Andrea makes the most of the local produce drawing on his experience of cooking as taught by his father, the celebrity chef Rudi Silvestri to deliver exceptional local food and wine for every delightful meal.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced artist, your hosts will be there to cater to your every need and to help you to really develop your painting skills, improve your techniques and increase your confidence as well as ensuring you have an enjoyable painting holiday in this inspiring region of Italy.
