The Pilates school is run by Graciela Kaplan who has over 13 years’ experience of teaching Pilates. Since retiring as principal ballerina at the UK’s Northern Ballet, Graciela has helped countless clients to achieve their physical and well-being goals. Specialising in post-operation recovery, Grace is an active member of the Pilates Foundation and provides some of the highest standards in her field. Using her deep understanding of the body’s mechanics, she has helped clients to not only increase their strength and flexibility but also to alleviate a variety of problems and injuries, including back, neck and shoulder pain.
Graciela welcomes guests of all levels and physical abilities into her group classes. During your stay, you will have a 75-minute shared mat class to loosen up after the day’s hiking. Whenever possible, classes will take place outside at the Finca, overlooking the pool and countryside.
Graciela also has a custom-built Pilates studio on the outskirts of Denia, which is equipped with top-of-the-range equipment, including a Pilates Reformer machine and a wall unit, and is set among beautiful orange groves and peaceful private gardens. One-to-one private Pilates classes may be available on request, and for an additional fee.
Gary, your hiking instructor, runs the Finca with his wife Jacki, and he has been walking since an early age! With 6 years’ experience of local walking and hiking trails, let him guide you around the picturesque countryside of Javea and around the Montgó Mountain National Park, home to a huge and spectacular lime stone massif, croplands, pine forest and over 600 different species of flora.
Location
This holiday is based in Jávea, the ‘jewel’ of the Costa Blanca. With a backdrop of the Montgó Mountain National park, Jávea is a quaint, historic town, nestled in an exquisite bay on the Mediterranean coast. Jávea’s Old Town, port and beach each have their own distinctive character, which makes it an enthralling town to explore.
Your accommodation will be at the Finca Montgó Jávea, a charming villa surrounded by river valleys, olive groves and vineyards. A mere 10 minutes outside of the hustle and bustle of Jávea, the finca resides in a rustic and peaceful setting overlooking the ancient Tres Molins windmills and the Bernia Mountains in the distance.
Cabs to Javea and the Arenal beach will cost around 20 Euros and cabs to the Old Town (Pueblo) will cost 15 Euros. The nearest supermarket, La Ermita Supermarket, is a 10 minute walk away and the nearest restaurant, Le Gourmand, is a 5 minute walk. Gusts can explore the many other excellent nearby restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Free Wifi is available in all rooms, gardens and the bar.
