This adrenaline packed holiday course includes accommodation within 100 metres of beautiful beaches, surfing lessons, use of top quality equipment during your lessons, transfers from the surf camp to the different surf spots in Famara beach and much more.
You will be taught by highly qualified, experienced instructors who are committed to having you up on your board and riding the waves in no time.
With year round near perfect conditions, consistent surf across 5km of sandy beaches and warm, clear water, Lanzarote lives up to its name as an excellent place to learn surfing.

Suitability
- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to intermediate surfers who have surfed before and who are looking to perfect their technique
- Must be able to swim
- Minimum age 18
- Surfing is great fun for everyone but it’s best to bear in mind that it can be physically demanding sometimes
- Lessons can be held in English and Spanish
Travelling Solo?
These surf holidays make great singles holidays, and singles will have a shared room in the Famara Surf House

Surf Holiday Start Days
- This surf holiday runs all year round
- The surf camp programme can begin on any day of the week, except Sundays
- Please note that there are no lessons on Sundays typically, so if you arrive on a Saturday, your 5 days of surfing will start on Monday
Surfing Holiday Itinerary
The itinerary is for guidance only and is subject to change depending on the group’s needs and wishes but is typically as follows. Please note: the meeting time for classes varies daily with weather conditions. You will always be contacted by SMS the day before, and if schedule changes:
Day 1 – Arrival
- On your arrival you can check-in at the surf accommodation in La Famara or La Santa any time after 11.30am
- You will have time to settle into your accommodation and take a look around the village.
Days 2-6 - Surfing
- On your first day of lessons you will meet for your transfer between your surf accommodation (Famara or La Santa) and your surf beach, where you will be kitted out with all your equipment for the week and your lessons will begin
- You will have 5 days of theory and practical surfing lessons which will run for 5 consecutive days (except the Sunday of the your course)
- Lessons will last 5 hours each day from 10am to 3pm
- Please note lesson times will depend on the weather and wave conditions, your instructor will keep you informed on a daily basis
- Note: There are no lessons on Sundays typically so if you arrive on a Saturday, your 5 days of surfing will start on Monday
- In the evenings you are free to explore the Island and it’s many attractions, or stay in La Famara/ La Santa and enjoy a glass a wine
Day 7 – Free day
- You will have the day to brush up on the skills you have learnt over your 5 days of surfing, alternatively you can relax on the shoreline, chill on the beach or explore other places on the island
Day 8 – Departure day
- After breakfast you will check out of the apartment in before 10am
What Will I Learn?
- All lessons will include the surfing basics according to your level such as water safety, surfing techniques, surf etiquette and wave selection
- Your instructors will take you to the best surf spots to suit your needs and ability
- Theory lessons will include coastline knowledge, rips, local conditions, safety issues, weather forecasts and more
- During each surf lesson you will have 2 goals to work towards, as you work towards your goals the instructor will give you personal feedback to help improve your technique
- As a beginner you will learn how to handle a board, how to paddle, catch white waves, pop up on the board and standing up in the foam
- As an intermediate surfer, certified surf instructors will work with you improve your surfing techniques, such as, perfecting your style, duck diving, cut backs, front side and back side turns and more
- All lessons are supported by video monitoring to get the most out of your surf tuition
Surf Equipment
- High quality surfboards and wetsuits will be supplied during your lessons
- The school will provide excellent equipment from a wide range of surfboards that will be suited to your personal needs
- The surf school is a Rip Curl wetsuit Pro Centre so you will have the opportunity to use the latest material of this leading brand
- If you have your own equipment you are welcome to bring it
- You will be able to hire equipment to practice in your free time; surf rental equipment costs from approximately €9 per day
Surf Camp Accommodation
The accommodation for the package price is based on a shared room in the nearby modern Famara Surf House
- For those who will be travelling solo, you will be placed in a shared room in the Famara Surf House
- Please note you can pay a compulsory private single supplement to upgrade to a private apartment in the Surf Complex at La Santa
- La Santa is a slightly busier village than Famara and is about 15mins drive away, if you decide to stay in a private apartment in La Santa, you'll be collected and taken back to La Santa before and after your lessons
- For those travelling in groups of two or more you will have your own private apartment in the La Santa Surf complex, for more details and to check availability please email
- Free Wireless Internet Hotspot is available at Famara surf House and there are many other free wi-fi spots and internet cafés in Famara and La Santa
Famara Surf House
- The Surf House accommodation in Famara is a modern Spanish house just 30 metres from a beautiful beach right in the centre of Famara.
- The surf house has 4 bedrooms which can sleep up to 12 people, with same gender shared rooms or couples twin rooms
- There are also 2 living rooms which are great for meeting fellow kite surfers and surfers, 3 bathrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens and a terrace with hammocks and views of the beach and ocean
- Other facilities include a BBQ area, TV, DVD player and CD/radio and Wi- Fi
- The surf house is basic but clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of everything in Famara
- There are 3 small supermarkets nearby with cafes and bars as well
- The Famara Surf House is the perfect option for students who want to socialise with other surfers
- Please note it is not possible to have a private room in Famara Surf house though you can upgrade for a compulsory single supplement to have a private apartment in the La Santa Surf Complex, for more information on see the ‘costings & extras’ tab of the course page
La Santa
- The Surf Complex in La Santa is made up of several apartments where you will find other surfers of different nationalities and a great place to kick back and relax between your kite surf lessons
- The modern apartments will have 1 or 2 bedrooms, a bathroom dining room, kitchen and most will have a terrace with ocean views
- Please note that a single supplement will apply to your booking if you wish to have a private apartment in La Santa for sole occupancy, for more information on see the ‘costings & extras’ tab of the course page
Surf Camp Accommodation Location
Both accommodation options are near beaches and transport will be provided daily free of charge.
Famara
- The Surf House is located in Famara, within 30 metres from a beautiful beach
- Famara has several restaurants serving typical local cuisine
- You will also find 3 small supermarkets, several bars, surf shops, bike rental and weekly live music
- There are no safes in the rooms
- There is no ATM in Famara the nearest cash point is in Teguise, though credit and debit cards are widely accepted
La Santa
- The Surf Complex in La Santa is located 15 minutes from Famara
- Surf Complex is just 100 metres from the ocean with direct views of some of the best surf spots in Europe including El Quemao and Morro Negro
- There are many restaurants in La Santa all serving international cuisine
- You will also find supermarkets, several bars, an internet cafe, surf shops, bike rental and nightclubs
Free Time in Lanzarote
- In between your surf lessons you will have the opportunity to hire the equipment to practice your new found skills
- Explore the small fisherman towns along the northwest of Lanzarote and take in the unspoilt natural landscape by foot or rent a bike
- Or you can head to Famara’s 5km of stunning beaches and simply kick back and relax on this holiday with a difference
- To really get the most out of Lanzarote, we recommend car hire to explore this amazing volcanic Island
Weather Conditions
-For safety reasons, lessons can only take place if the weather conditions permit so please be sure to check the weather conditions with the school in advance of arrival
- As a result of Lanzarote’s geographic location, the surf school has great conditions for surfing
- In the unlikely event that the conditions mean you cannot take a lesson, lessons may be offered on alternative days, though this cannot be guaranteed
- Please note that if an alternative day cannot be offered , alternative activities will be offered (for example, lessons in alternative water sports)
- If you are unable to participate in the alternative activity, you will receive a voucher which will state the number of hours of kite surf lessons you have remaining, and this can be redeemed within one year of the date issued
- No refunds will be given if lessons are missed due to weather conditions
