About the location
This beautiful French farmhouse is located in one of the most stunning settings imaginable and only a 90 minute drive from Bordeaux airport and even closer to Pau airport.
Located on the eastern edge of the Landes forest, the farmhouse is also only 90 minutes from the Atlantic beaches and the ski slopes of the Pyrenees Mountains. You will have endless opportunities to explore the surrounding area, including over 18 acres of meadows, orchard and woodland and the weather is warm with a soothing breeze from the Pyrenees.
Your hosts, Margaretha and Charles, are extremely welcoming and experienced in their fields. Margaretha is a fully trained medical doctor and an equine-assisted confidence coach who has years of experience in her fields. She is also medically trained hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. Her husband Charles is a passionate wine connoisseur and a vintner of the city of London with a WSET diploma, who is also an accomplished cook.
Accommodation is set in a beautifully restored traditional farmhouse which is built in a U shape with a courtyard in the middle. One long arm houses the main house with 1 double bedroom and separate bathroom available to guests, and the other long arm houses a self-catering unit with two double bedrooms, one single room, a separate bathroom, kitchen, dining room and sitting room.
The farmhouse is located in the rural area of Cotes de Gascogne, where wine is produced which is farmed for its health-boosting and anti-aging properties. The horse riding and wine tasting holiday will have the chance to sample and enjoy this local delicacy.
The closest town is only 3km away from the farmhouse and is home to local stores including a bistro and an epicerie.
Your hosts own lovely Friesian and Lusitano horses. For those on the horse riding and wine tasting holiday, riding takes place into the surrounding countryside, which is a fantastic opportunity to explore this spectacular scenery.
If the holiday activities are not enough, there are plenty of local attractions in the surrounding area. Play a round of golf at the nearby 18-hole golf course, discover the ancient churches and abbeys, watch the horse racing, join a country dance or simply soak up the sun and marvel at the snow peaked Pyrenees mountains in the distance.
