Holiday itinerary
Perched on the slopes of the Andalucían mountains nestled in between endless olive and almond groves, in the northern part of the Malaga province, your experienced dance teachers will help to unleash the dancer within you by teaching you the basics of Argentine Tango, helping you perfect your technique and understanding of this passionate and sensual dance.
You will stay in a charming tango villa with its own professional dance studio where you can practise all the steps you have learnt during your tango holiday. The villa that you will share with your hosts is spacious and well equipped with all modern conveniences. You will have use of the outdoor terraces, private swimming pool and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, olive and almond groves.
The tango course is taught by your hosts Ken and Erika who are passionate about authentic Argentinean Tango, practising for over 15 years. They will work with you to help you improve your techniques, learn new skills and increase your artistic confidence. If you are already an experienced dancer your teachers will help you develop your skills to the next level.
You will have the opportunity to combine your Argentinean Tango lessons with a night out at a lively and popular local Milonga, your instructor will be there to accompany you as your dance partner making sure you experience the true culture of Argentine tango.

Tango Holiday Start Days
- All arrivals are on Fridays or Saturdays and your tango lessons will begin either on the first or the second day of your holiday depending on your arrival time

Course Schedule
Please note this itinerary is an example only and may change slightly due to flight arrival times, your level, time of year and weather conditions:
Day 1
Arrival day
- Depending on your arrival times at the villa you can take one of your tango lessons on the first day. Your tango lessons will cover a short version of Argentine Tango History followed by the tango embrace, posture, the tango walk both alone and with a partner. You will also learn the tango basic 6 step move, both the closed and open versions.

- In the evening you will join Ken and Erika for dinner at the house where you can get to know your hosts and also have the chance to discuss your objectives.
Day 2
- Delicious continental breakfast in the morning before starting your second day of your tango lessons
- In your second Argentine tango lesson you will begin by recapping the first lesson, you will learn the basic 8 step with cross including the ocho atrás (backwards 8 )and ocho adelante (forwards 8).

- Time to relax in the house, or to explore the local area
Day 3
- Delicious continental breakfast in the morning
- Take the day to relax explore the local area, enjoy the views and the private outdoor swimming pool
Day 4
- Breakfast in the morning
- In your third Argentine tango lesson you will begin by recapping the first two lessons, you will learn floorcraft and changes of direction. You will learn the line of dance; the direction to move around the floor. You will also cover the cuñita and the calesita.
- After your 1.5 hours of Argentine tango lessons you will enjoy a tapas lunch.
- Time to relax in the house, or to explore the local area
Day 5
- Breakfast first thing
- In your fourth Argentine tango, you will learn the media luna a combination of the ocho adelante and ocho atrás. Media luna doble is an alternative version where the leader accompanies his partner throughout the step

- You have the afternoon free to visit the coastal area, the pueblo blancos or any of the surrounding cities
- In the evening you will be chauffeur driven by one of your dance instructors to a local lively Milonga where you can practice all the wonderful tango steps you have learnt that day with your fun, enthusiastic and professional partner
Day 6
- Breakfast will be served in the morning
- After breakfast you will take your fifth tango lesson
- In your final lesson you will learn how to do the Giro a la derecha a movement where one person dances around their partner clockwise and Giro a la izquierda: The ‘giro a la izquierda’ the same movement but going anti-clockwise
Day 7
Departure Day
- After breakfast guests are asked to check-out of their rooms ready for departure taking home with them new tango skills and an insight into Andalucían life that will stay with them long after the holiday is over
How Will I Learn Tango?
The classes are taught in English and the aim is to make classes enjoyable and fun whether you are a complete beginner, intermediate or more advanced. Couples or individuals are welcome and a dance partner is not essential. A taxi dancing service is included for the Milonga night with one instructor, you will be chauffeur driven there and back and provided with one dance partner for the evening.
What Will I Learn?
- You will learn about the history of authentic argentine tango
- You will learn the Tango embrace, correct posture, and walk.
- You will cover the basic 6 and 8 step formations with ocho atrás and ocho adelante
- You will learn how to perfect the cuñita, calesita, Media Luna, Media Luna Doble and Giro a la derecha and izquierda whilst working on your technique, posture and floor craft
- At the start of your course the group will meet with your instructors and you can discuss your own personal goals and aims for the course
- If you have some basic dancing experience, they will help you to develop your existing skills as well as giving you useful tips to help you develop new skills and techniques
- If you are a complete beginner Ken and Erika will teach you the basics and will set you off on a path to developing your own tango personality helping you to improve during the week
Free Time In Andalucía
There are a host of activities open to you in the area including:
Sunbathing and relaxing by the private swimming pool
Soaking up the culture of Granada, Cordoba and Malaga cities
Visiting the traditional white villages (Pueblos Blancos), beach and coastal resorts
Walking in the stunning Montes de Malaga and El Torcal Natural Parks and Malaga lakes
Horse riding, climbing, caving, swimming, quad biking and cycling
There is a Water Park at Velez Malaga and a Golf Course both located about 30 minutes from the villa
Tango Course Accommodation
- The accommodation is in a lovely purpose built villa that you will share with your hosts
- There are two bedrooms available to you, a luxury double bedroom with a double bed and a double room with en-suite and a king size bed
- Bed linen, house towels, pool towels, bath robes, travel sized toiletries and a hair dryer are provided
- There are two fully tiled terraces with magnificent mountain views
- There is a private swimming pool with sunbathing area and sun loungers
- The house is surrounded by almond and olive groves
- The bedrooms and lounge are all air conditioned as is the dance studio for your comfort
- You will stay in one of the 2 charming double bedrooms
- Your own private bathroom is available, depending on availability, for a small supplement
- There is a large living room incorporating a wood burner with satellite TV including the main UK terrestrial channels, Spanish TV, DVD player, DVD library, stereo and a piano
- Wi-fi is available in the whole house, including the bedrooms and the outside terrace
- Your hosts have two cocker spaniel dogs who sleep in the house and do have access to the open plan living area. They are never allowed in the hall, bedrooms or bathrooms
Tango Course Accommodation Location
- The course takes place 6 km outside of the pretty Spanish village of Comares
- You are also a short drive from the lovely pueblo blanco Comares
- Please note that there is no public transport and it is a 6km trip to the nearest town so we highly recommend car hire for this course
Meals
- Two evening meals, and breakfasts are included in the price
- A continental breakfast is served in the morning to set you up for your tango day
- Breakfast consists of freshly baked bread, croissants, freshly produced eggs from the garden, fruit juices, smoothies, cereals, yoghurts, jams, local Colmenar honey, fresh fruit, tea and coffee

- The dinner or the Argentinean Asado barbecue is provided on two evenings where Erika will cook a delicious 3 course meal
- Vegetarians and those with dietary requirements or simple food requests can be catered for if requested well in advance of arrival
